At present, the junior high school history textbooks are classified into the unified version again from the previous multiple versions, that is,the unified textbook compiled by the Ministry of education. This paper is called the unified edition for short, and some articles are called the departmental edition for short.Compared with the old textbook, the compilation style and content of the integrated edition textbook have been updated a lot, including many updates in terms of pictures. This paper studies these updated pictures. In this paper, through the methods of literature and questionnaire, combined with the knowledge of history, pedagogy, archaeology and other disciplines,we studied the pictures in the second volume of the seventh grade history textbook. The results show that: the number of pictures in the textbook is rich, and the number of pictures in the second volume of the seventh grade textbook is very rich, with an average of about 1.5 pictures per page. The application of pictures in history textbooks is conducive to gradually cultivate students' interest in learning, aesthetic ability, thinking ability, etc. However, some small problems have also been found in the study of the pictures in the second edition of the textbook compiled by the Ministry of history in grade seven. On the one hand, teachers and students have some problems in using pictures. For example, some teachers don't pay attention to the use of pictures or don't know how to use pictures.Students like pictures but don't know how to use pictures. On the other hand, there are some problems in the compilation of the pictures in the textbooks: some historical pictures are vague, some of the pictures of the brothers' ethnic characters have no translation, some of the pictures of the portraits of ancient Chinese historical figures bring about wrong cognition, etc. In view of these problems, the author has carried on the research arrangement, proposed some use suggestions.Teachers need to have a deep understanding of pictures,on the basis of which to interpret picture information and design teaching programs.Teachers should follow the principles of appropriateness, adaptability, and combination of pictures and words when using pictures. When students use multiple pictures, they can interpret the historical information according to the principle of seeking common ground while reserving differences. The pictures in the textbook should be written with clear pictures, with Chinese translation of minority characters added, and the author of figure painting noted.
