| Social withdrawal refers to the excessive restraint,shyness,timidity,selfabasement and other behaviors shown by individuals in social communication,which leads to the restriction or obstruction of communication and interaction with others.Social withdrawal in adolescence has adverse effects on individual’s social emotional development and social adaptation.Among the many factors affecting social withdrawal,parent-child attachment established in early life plays a crucial role in social withdrawal.Attachment theory holds that social withdrawal is an external behavior manifestation of insecure attachment of children and adolescents.Social withdrawal is usually caused by fear of rejection or unsupport.Such psychological sensitivity to social interaction due to fear of rejection is called rejection sensitivity in specific social situations.Studies have shown that people with high rejection sensitivity are more likely to experience social anxiety and face a higher risk of depression.In this study,840 students in Grade one,grade two and grade three of a middle school in Nanning were selected by stratified sampling method.A total of 840 questionnaires were distributed and 786 valid questionnaires were collected.The Parent-Child Attachment Scale,Social Withdrawal Scale and Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire were selected for questionnaire survey.This paper discusses the influence of parent-child attachment on social withdrawal of junior middle school students and the mediating role of rejection sensitivity between them.The results are as follows:(1)There are significant gender differences in parent-child attachment,social withdrawal and rejection sensitivity of junior middle school students.The level of parent-child attachment of male students was higher than that of female students,and the level of social withdrawal and rejection sensitivity of female students was higher than that of male students.(2)Parent-child attachment in grade,whether the only child or not has a significant difference.The parent-child attachment level of Grade one was higher than that of grade two and grade three.The attachment level of only children was higher than that of nononly children.(3)There is a significant correlation among parent-child attachment,social withdrawal and rejection sensitivity of junior high school students.Parent-child attachment was negatively correlated with social withdrawal.Parent-child attachment is negatively correlated with rejection sensitivity.Rejection sensitivity was positively correlated with social withdrawal.(4)Rejection sensitivity played a partial mediating role between parent-child attachment and social withdrawal,and the mediating effect ratio accounted for 26.57%of the total effect ratio.According to the above findings,this paper puts forward the following educational suggestions for the problem of middle school students’ social withdrawal: parents should pay attention to cultivating the close relationship with their children,schools should provide psychological support for sensitive students,guide and encourage teenagers to actively participate in social interaction,and all parties should face up to social withdrawal,scientific guidance and intervention. |
