The Relationship Between Maternal Mindfulness Level And Parenting Sense Of Competence

Mindfulness is a special,conscious,non-judgmental state of attention and consciousness that focuses on the present moment,emphasizing a total,conscious awareness of the present moment;Mindfulness level refers to the level and degree of mindfulness;Parenting sense of competence refers to the sense of efficacy,value and comfort that parents' feel and experience in the process of parenting;Mental health refers to all aspects of the mind and the process of activities in a good or coordinated state.In this study,431 infant mothers were studied by questionnaire and test.The purpose of this study is to understand the level of mindfulness,parenting sense of competence and mental health status of infant mothers,and to explore the relationship between them.In order to ensure the psychological health of children's mothers and improve the sense of parenting competence to provide new ideas.Through descriptive statistics,correlation analysis,regression analysis,difference test and mediating effect test,the following conclusions are drawn:First,descriptive statistical analysis results show that the level of mindfulness and parenting sense of competence of infant mothers are at medium level,and the score of mental health(scl-90)is significantly lower than the national female norm.As the mental health scale(scl-90)is a reverse scale,the lower the score,the better the mental health status.Therefore,the study subjects have a good mental health status.Second,the results of the difference analysis showed that there was no significant difference in the level of mindfulness of the infant mother in the gender of the child,the age class,the nature of the kindergarten,the occupation of the mother and the residential area of the family.There were some statistically significant differences in maternal age,educational level and monthly income.There was no significant difference about the parenting sense of competence in the child's gender,the age class,the nature of the kindergarten,the mother's age,education level,occupation and the current residential area,and there was a statistically significant difference in the mother's monthly income.The mental health status of mothers in the child's gender,the age class,the nature of the kindergarten,age,culture level,occupation,family dwelling place,and there was no significant difference on personal income,but here are parameters of rank and inspection methods,this method is widely applicable but had a disadvantage of low test efficiency,forcibly method using the parametric test found mothers in anxiety,terror and other symptoms of mental health(mainly sleep and diet)dimension significant differences on the mother's occupation.comprehensive previous research results,it is possible that there are significant differences in demographic variables of infant mothers' mental health.The score of maternal parenting competence in the group with high mindfulness level was significantly higher than that in the group with low mindfulness level,that is,the higher the score of mindfulness level,the higher the score of parenting competence.The score of mental health(scl-90)of mothers in the group with high mindfulness level was significantly lower than that in the group with low mindfulness level,that is,the higher the score of mindfulness level,the lower the score of mental health(scl-90).Thirdly,the correlation analysis results show that the level of mindfulness of mothers is significantly positively correlated with their sense of competence in parenting.There was a significant negative correlation between mindfulness level and mental health(scl-90).Mental health(scl-90)was negatively correlated with parenting competence.Fourth,the results of regression analysis show that the level of mindfulness of mothers has a significant positive predictive effect on parenting competence.Mindfulness level has a significant negative predictive effect on mental health(scl-90).Mental health(scl-90)has a significant negative predictive effect on parenting competence.Mindfulness level was a stronger predictor of parenting success than mental health.Fifth,the analysis of mediating effect shows that mental health plays a part in mediating between the level of mindfulness and the sense of competence in parenting.The mediating effect is significant,and the level of mindfulness of mothers can affect the sense of competence in parenting through mental health.
