The Chinese educational idea has been innovated constantly along with the continuous progress of the middle school new curriculum reform.The Chinese education is on longer limited to the teaching of knowledge,ability and quality.It is necessary for teachers to be strict with themselves and improve their own comprehensive quality.The middle school Geography teaching and research group is taken as the core of the middle school Geography education.It transforms the loose Geography teaching dominated by individuals into the systematic and connected group subject teaching.The establishment of the middle school Geography teaching and research group will promote the contact and exchange among Geography teachers greatly so that they can deal with everything about middle school Geography education in cooperation.The ability of the group means the Geography teaching achievement.The development and progress of the group play an important role in the development of Geography education and even the whole education system.The status of the senior high school Geography teaching and research group of Jincheng City,Shanxi Province as well as related problems is investigated and analyzed in the methods of questionnaire and interview in the paper.Specifically,the status and shortcomings of the participation of the group among senior high school geography teachers are investigated and some related problems are found.The status and theproblems are discussed from some aspects,including the basic information level of senior high school Geography teachers,the status and effect of the group and the suggestions of members for the development of the group.It is analyzed that there are some problems existing in the senior high Geography teaching,such as the top-down teaching and research form,the hysteretic teaching and research awareness,the insufficient inheritance between new and old teachers,the ineffective teaching and research organization,the lack of professional guidance of senior high geography teachers,and the lack of integration between teaching activities and research activities.In addition,it is drawn that the senior high school Geography teaching and research group plays a very important role in the senior high Geography teaching in some aspects,such as education ideal,education idea,team cooperation,inheritance between new and old teachers amd professional growth of teachers.It is urgent to make some solutions to the existing problems so as to promote the professional growth of senior high school Geography teachers as well as the future development of the senior high school geography teaching and research group.On the basis of the long-term investigation and research analysis,it is proposed to improve teaching awareness,clarify the significance of teaching and research group activities and implement the corresponding rules and regulations.Realize the process of teaching and research activities and combine teaching activities with research activities.Attach importance to the cultivation on young teachers as well as the construction on the teaching team.Carry out teaching and research activities in various forms to mobilize the enthusiasm of teachers.Strengthen the construction on the teaching and research group.Promote the role transformation of the teaching and research group leader and carry forward the active teaching and research culture.Improve the quality of Geography teaching and other research strategies through regional linkage.According to these strategies,Jincheng No.1 Middle School is taken as an example to carry out the senior high school Geography teaching and research case analysis and draw the experimental results.The geography teaching and research group of the school promotes the construction about itself and its own culture,leads its members to make the common progress and promotes discipline construction and the professional growth of teachers as well as the further development of Geography teaching in the process of exploratory research and cooperation.The most detailed information is obtained through the questionnaire survey among our local eighty Geography teachers.In addition,the daily teaching and research activities of five senior high school Geography teachers are included into the case analysis process.Their daily teaching and research results are observed and understood to deeply analyze the reasons for the poor effect of daily teaching and research activities and the solutions to these problems.Some questionnaire and observation data and information may not be accurate or comprehensive.As a result,more than ten teachers are selected for interview and investigation,which is supplemented by case interviews and interviews with people related to cases.
