Education is the key element to achieve the goal of social sustainable development.During the millennium development goals,the government of Kenya has been committed to improving the quality and equity of national education.In response to ?Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development? of the United Nations,the Kenyan government has earlier incorporated the sustainable development goals into the national education development plan and school curriculum,aiming to obtain more support from the international community through the implementation of education for sustainable development at all levels of education institutions,at the same time,it can cultivate the concept of sustainable development of young people,and improve the public awareness of sustainable development broad influence in civil society.This topic is based on the two programmatic documents of ?Decade of Education for Sustainable Development? and ?Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development?.It combs the ideological evolution and changes of education for sustainable development in the global perspective,and objectively analyzes the occurrence and development process of education for sustainable development in Kenya,and comments on the background and development stage of implementing education for sustainable development in Kenya.Secondly,this paper studies the policies and practices of implementing education for sustainable development in Kenya,including the policy guarantee and the practical measures of implementing education for sustainable development in Kenya.Based on the research on the policy and practice of education for sustainable development in Kenya,this paper analyzes the effectiveness,main dilemma faced by Kenya in implementing education for sustainable development and the causes of the dilemma.The last summary and prospect is a re-summary of the writing thoughts of the full paper and some assumptions for future research.O n the basis of summing up experience and analyzing problems,it is hoped that this paper can provide some reference value for other African countries to implement education for sustainable development.
