Practical Study Of Education For Sustainable Development In Biology Teaching Of Junior Middle School

The earth is the only and same family in which we human beings exist and develop together. In today's world, we should find a sustainable way that can make the population, economy, society, environment and resources develop coordinately. Environmental problem is one of the most important issues that all of the countries are facing. The global risks of resources and environment have directly threatened the existing and developing of human beings. History tells us to protect environment at once.Protecting environment is mainly based on education. The period from 1990 to 2000 has been decided a decade for Environmental Education by UN in 1987. The 27 meeting of the United Nations had decided that June 5th to be"World Environment Day".In 1992, , which was announced in UNCED, clearly pointed out that"rebuilding education for Sustainable Development".The meeting of United Nations announced that 2005—2014 is the decade of Education for Sustainable Development, and required the governments of all countries put Education for Sustainable Development into every kinds of education strategies and action plans. Education for Sustainable Development also satisfies the needs of the quality-oriented education and innovation education. And it is the basic project of realization of Education for Sustainable strategies and scientific development outlooks.In this paper, firstly I introduce the origin and development of the idea of sustainable development. Then I make clear of the theory of Education for Sustainable. I also analyses the curriculum on Education for Sustainable in Elementary Education. Through the teaching activities of Education for Sustainable in the process of biology class teaching, analyzing the typical teaching cases, exploring the ways of enhancing the students'consciousness of Sustainable, I try to find ways and methods to promote Education for Sustainable. At last I believe that putting Education for Sustainable into elementary education is a practicable strategy to implementing the Education for Sustainable.
