With the stage of curricula reforms for compulsory education deeper and deeper,the training goals of the curricula gradually shifted from "mastering theoretical knowledge and operational skills" to "cultivating core accomplishment".Meanwhile,the establishment of the extension curricula opens up a new way to achieve such goals.In recent years,project-based learning(PBL)prevails all over the world,which is not only a new teaching method,but also an educational concept.The development of PBL provides a new way for the curricula reforms compulsory education in China,furthermore,the current extension curricula provide a good platform for the implementation and promotion of PBL.In order to effectively achieve the goal of cultivating students' "core literacy",this paper,based on PBL,carried out the development and practical research of science extension curricula in junior high school.First of all,through literature research,this paper analyzed the theories and practice of PBL at home and abroad,as well as the research status of domestic extension curricula.Based above research,the concept and connotation of PBL are supplemented,and the related education theories of PBL are summarized.Then,through interviews,the current implementation and the main problems of PBL in local primary and secondary schools are obtained.And then,applying the established school-based curricula development processes,combining with the core literacy training objectives,junior high school science curricula standards and the related education theories for PBL,a set of project-based junior high school science extension curricula named "eggs" are developed,and the school-based curricula development mode is established.Further more,the process of the extension curricula development is elaborated in the aspects of the analysis of learners,the setting of project themes,the establishment of curricula' s objectives,the compilation of teaching materials,the design of teaching activities and the implementation of curricula' s evaluation,and so on.Finally,on the basis of relevant references of teaching practice to the literature for PBL,a set of teaching mode of PBL is constructed,and the teaching practice andevaluation of the developed curriculum with the theme of "making and observing the eggs of pine flowers" are carried out.The results of practice show that the developed science extension curricula based PBL in this study have a significant effect on cultivating core accomplishments,such as scientific spirit,learning to learn,practice and innovation,in the junior high school.Meanwhile,this study also provides a feasible model for curricula development and practice based on PBL.The developed learning project named "eggs" enriches the teaching materials of science extension courses in the middle schools.
