Research On The Core Competitiveness Of Universities In Shanxi Province

Improving the core competitiveness of universities is not only determined by the national development strategy,but also meets the strong needs of self-sponsorship,development and constraints of universities.Although there are many scholars who have studied the core competitiveness of universities in recent years,there are relatively few universities focusing on the weaker places.The author believes that the core competitiveness of universities should not only exist in high-level universities.As long as we should pay more attention to the local universities,the overall development level of higher education can be improved in China.This paper summarizes under the background of the international competitive environment of economic globalization and the development of knowledge economy,the requirements of the development of the country 's strong country and the supporting macro environment,and the new requirements for the core competitiveness of universities by the construction of “double first-class” universities in Shanxi Province.The previous research results and related concepts were defined,and a descriptive analysis of the current status of the core competitiveness of universities in Shanxi Province was carried out,including the horizontal comparison of the development of higher education in Shanxi Province with higher education in the six central provinces and even the whole country,and a longitudinal comparison of the development of higher education in Shanxi Province.On this basis,this article puts forward four major problems in the core competitiveness of universities in Shanxi Province.They are relatively weak in basic strength and irrational distribution of disciplines;insufficient investment in higher education and imperfect infrastructure;teachers need to be strengthened urgently,and the quality of personnel training is not high;internationalization does not pay enough attention and lacks foreign cooperation.Next,this paper draws on different scholars' reference,improvement and optimization of the research on various index systems related to the evaluation of core competitiveness,and uses AHP to preliminarily construct an evaluation index model of core competence in Shanxi universities.This evaluation model includes six first-level indicators including discipline construction,scientific research innovation,resource allocation,talent cultivation,social services,and environmental shaping,and 20 secondary indicators.At the same time,we score and feedback the subsystems of S and T universities that received four stars in the "2019 China University Evaluation Research Report" prepared by the Chinese Alumni Association Network and published by the Science Press,and then apply fuzzy evaluation methods to Shanxi Province.Carry out concrete empirical analysis on the core competitiveness of universities,and further elaborate the reasons behind the core competitiveness problems of universities in Shanxi Province based on the conclusions drawn.Finally,according to the results of theoretical and empirical analysis and the specific situation of the development of higher education in Shanxi Province,specific countermeasures for improving core competitiveness are proposed from three levels: school positioning and development strategies,core competitiveness of different modules,institutional norms and evaluation mechanisms with recommendations.
