In January 2018,the Ministry of Education published the New Curriculum Standard that identified the requirements for the core competency of each subject.Among others,the New Curriculum Standard for Physics in Senior High Schools has defined its educational objectives as the following core competencies: the concepts of physics,the scientific mode of thinking,scientific inquiry,scientific attitude and responsibilities.The new curriculum standard has also pointed out the current situations of overemphasizing the passive acceptance of knowledge,cramming,and rote learning in classes should be changed and the attention should be paid on the development of students' core competencies.Classes serve as the basis for developing students' core competencies and the precondition for the success of class teaching lies in the teaching design.Currently,the majority of teaching designs are based on the three-dimensional objectives.The new curriculum standard stresses the establishment of the learning context of physics and the stimulation of students' learning interests.And the experiment teaching acts as not only an essential way to develop students' scientific inquiry ability but also the most effective method to create the learning situation for physics and to spur students' learning interest.Nevertheless,the status of physical experiments has been constantly weakened in the physics experiment teaching of secondary schools,and thus the contemporary physics classes go in a way more like exercise classes or math classes.Therefore,it is not merely a need for restoring the significant status of experimental classes but also an urgent demand for developing students' core competencies to produce the high-quality core physics competencies-oriented experimental teaching design.In this paper,the author has adopted the literature research method,the case study method,the action research method and so on,and expounded from the perspectives of theoretical basis,design strategy,design case,teaching practices,study summary and reflection.Based on the core physics competencies-oriented principle,the author has defined the teaching objectives of core competencies forspecific teaching topics,and also integrated it with physical experiment and teaching design.By doing so,the author has creatively established the teaching design modes for physics experiment teaching in senior high schools and formulated the teaching design cases for several typical types of physics classes,which have been practiced and tested in classroom teaching.It has truly realized the transition from“three-dimensional objectives” to “core competency objective”.At the same time,it has offered a reference case and research idea to physics teachers on how to develop students' core physics competencies when formulating their experimental teaching designs.
