Geographic information science has become one of branch disciplines of geography.Industrialization of geographic information is performing strongly.By 2016,the number of mobile map(Baidu Map,Tencent Map,Gaode Map,etc.)users in China has reached 650 million.Obviously,mobile mapping application has become a common tool in daily life.According to ?Geography Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(2017 Edition)?,teachers should make full use of geographic information technology to make the geography teaching environment more vivid and visualized and cultivate the key competency of geography.With the rapid development of China's economy,teaching concepts,basic education hardware facilities and quality of young teachers are been improved,which is possible for GIS to enter high school.However,due to the differences in the age,educational background and teaching interest of high school geography teachers,the GIS software is not sufficiently skilled in the operation and use of GIS software,which makes the use frequency and use efficiency of GIS in high school geography teaching insufficient.Therefore,it is necessary to design a software operation tutorial for GIS skills improvement and build a platform for geography teachers to learn GIS technology.In this paper,the questionnaire survey method and interview method are used to clarify the current situation of geography teaching in high school.In view of the difficulties encountered by current geography teachers in using GIS software,a specific scheme for high school geography teachers to improve GIS skills is formulated.Secondly,teaching video and teaching courses are made to solve many problems such as how to use video and courses,how long to use them for teachers of different ages,different educational backgrounds and different GIS skill levels.Therefore,this part of the tutorial has the characteristics of hierarchy and modularity when designing videos and tutorials.Thirdly,by taking exams to evaluate GIS skills of teachers,this paper compares and analyzes teachers' understanding of GIS application,classroom teaching effect and students' feedback before and after the training,and summarizes and evaluates the analysis results.At last,the adjustments are made due to the drawbacks from teachers and students.This paper proposes a method to improve the GIS application skills of high school geography teachers.It explores the development mode of new GIS technology in high school geography,enriches high school geography teachers' teaching methods and expands the teaching resources of high school geography.It can effectively stimulate students' interest in learning,and cultivate students' comprehensive thinking and geographic practice.At present,this method is only practiced in the teaching of high school geography,such as effectively adjusting the content of classroom teaching objectives,teaching methods,knowledge module setting,etc.,which can be promoted in the teaching of high school geography.
