The stage of primary school is a critical period for students to develop their different basic skills.If students have a positive motivation,they will get their learning and growth promoted.However,there are many students don't like leaning and aren't willing to learn.Therefore,they perform poorly in learning and then begin to affect peers,ruin teacher-student relationships and even get psychological problems.So it's necessary to improve students' learning motivation.SFGT emphasizes the power from the visitors themselves.It tries to stimulate the positive side of the visitors and leads them to eliminate the negative mentality.It is proved that learning motivation is actually an internal psychological state so we can adjust and improve the individual's internal motivation by using SFBT counseling.Therefore,the study adopts SFBT to improve students' learning motivation.This study selected some students of Grade four and five from a primary school of Ningbo as the research samples.Then we chose 16 members who have poor learning motivation as the experimental group and the other 16 members for the control group according to the result of their questionnaires.In order to examine the effects of group counseling interventions,ten interventions were used for the experimental group in total.These interventions concerns about four aspects: successful motivation,learning responsibility,test anxiety and learning requirements.Within pretest,post-test and the three-month post-test,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Generally Pupils' learning motivation is at a high level,but the students with excellent grades are higher than the average students in all dimensions of learning motivation.The students of Grade Four and Five perform quiet differently in the dimensions of knowledge learning,promotion of tension and their own responsibility.And students of Grade Four all get higher scores than students of Grade Five.Among them,girls' are higher than boys' in all dimensions of successful motivation,especially in knowledge learning and skills learning.While as for sports learning,boys' scores are slightly higher than girls'.(2)Solution-focused group counseling is effective for the intervention of primary school students' learning motivation,especially for the successful motivation and learning requirements,and has certain effect on the intervention of test anxiety.(3)The follow-up test after three months of training showed that solution-focused group counseling is sustainable to improve the learning motivation of primary school students.And future research can test the influence and effect of solution-focused group counseling on learning motivation in the longer dimension.
