With the rapid development of China's economy,a large number of surplus labor force in rural poor areas has been transferred to cities.Because it is not convenient for migrant parents to take their children to school,they have to stay at home and go to school.So the mental health problems of the students who stay at home have been the social difficulties that we need to pay attention to and solve.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the mental health problems of left behind children in rural poverty-stricken areas.In this paper,the mental health problems of left behind children in rural poverty-stricken areas were studied by questionnaire and mental health scale combined with mental health education theory.279 left behind children in primary and secondary schools in remote areas of Fucheng county were taken as the research objects.The contents of the questionnaire include living conditions,parents' going out,communication with parents,parents' opinions on going out to work,and the influence of parents' going out to work on their children.The scale is a mental health scale for middle school students compiled by Professor Wang Jisheng,a famous psychologist in China.The content of the scale is divided into 10 dimensions,namely,obsession,paranoia,hostility,interpersonal relationship,depression,anxiety,learning pressure,maladjustment,emotional inequality and psychological imbalance.The frequency Z value of each dimension was calculated by using Likert scale five point scoring method,and then chi square test was carried out on the scale data to understand the mental health problems of left behind children.Conclusion:(1)to understand the basic situation of 279 left behind children in remote areas of Fucheng county.After investigation,it is found that most of the left behind children live with their grandparents and elder brothers and sisters,and their parents have to go out to work in order to live.There is little communication with their parents in daily life.Because the left behind children lack the care of their parents,they have psychological problems,which are common.(2)This paper uses the mental health scale of middle school students compiled by Professor Wang Jisheng,a famous psychologist in China,as the mental health scale of left behind children in rural poverty-stricken areas,and uses chi square test to analyze the difference between left behind and non left behind children's mental health.The test results show that the factor p value of 10 dimensions is equal to 0.000(P < 0.001).It can be seen that the mental health of left behind and non left behind children in rural areas is equal to 0.000(P < 0.001)There are very significant differences between health.(3)According to the results of guardian,student interview and scale test,it can be found that the left behind children in remote areas of Fucheng county have problems in anxiety,interpersonal relationship,unsound character,learning pressure,hostility,psychological imbalance,etc.The reasons are the lack of social care,the lack of parents' education,the backwardness of school education and the lack of left behind children's self-awareness.(4)In view of the reasons,this paper puts forward the measures that need to be taken from the four aspects of society,family,school and oneself.In the social aspect,we need to care more about the left behind children,create a good surrounding environment and increase publicity to attract more caring people;in the family aspect,when the parents go out to work,we should try to stay at home to take care of the left behind children,do a good job in the education of guardians,and communicate with the children more during the working hours.School education needs to establish a good management system,strengthen the psychological counseling opportunities for left behind children,implement home school synchronous mental health education,and strengthen the emotional management guidance.We need to learn to be self reliant,improve our self-awareness and education ability.
