Educational expectation plays an important role in the parent-child relationship. Most studies have discussed the impact of parental or selfeducational expectations,in particular, more attention is paid to the adverse effects of unreasonable educational However, studies rarely combine parental education expectations with self-education expectations, neglect the interaction between parent-child relationships, and lack of research on the impact of differences in educational expectations on parent-child relationships. Therefore, this study combines the current status of research at home and abroad, collects paired data, constructs a model of subjectobject interdependence, and examines the impact of educational expectations on parent-child relationships among middle school students.Combined with the results of existing studies, the frequency of mother-child conflicts is significantly higher than that of father-child conflicts, and the impact of mothers on adolescent children is also significantly higher than that of fathers. The educational expectation scale and the parent-child relationship scale for middle school students were used as research tools to explore the relationship between variables and draw the following conclusions:(1)There are significant differences in the evaluation of parent-child relationships between children and mothers;significant differences are in the evaluation of parent-child relationships in children's gender, grade, and mother's education;mothers' evaluation of parent-child relationships differs only in children's gender and grade.(2)Significant differences are between children's self-education expectations and mothers' education expectations;mothers' expectations have significant differences in children's gender, grade, and mother's educational factors;self-education expectations have significantdifferences only in grades and mother's educational factors.(3)When the expectation of mother's education is higher than the expectation of self-education,the subject effect and object effect of both parent and child are significant.(4)When the expectation of mother's education is equal to the expectation of self-education,there is no subject-object effect between the parent and child.(5)When the expectation of mother's education is lower than the expectation of self-education,the subject-object effect of the mother is significant.Evaluation of parent-child relationships is not affected by selfeducation expectations.Aiming at the research results, this article puts forward four educational suggestions for the development of parent-child relationship of junior high school students,namely:(1)adjusting educational expectations in accordance with the actual situation;(2)reforming educational concepts and focusing on equal communication;(3)improving self-differentiation and reducing anxiety;(4)Develop and abandon the "elite" plot.
