In recent years,with the frequent exposure of bullying on campus and appeals by many experts and scholars on the study of school bullying have aroused great concern from our government and society.According to Sina.com statistics,in the past decade,82 bullying incidents have been publicly reported and the number of bullying in junior middle schools up to 72.2 percent.Junior middle school students are at a critical stage in improving their physical and mental,cognitive and emotional development.Therefore,it's of great significance to study the causes and prevention strategies of school bullying in urban middle schools.This study is based on 587 students from four junior middle schools in Changsha,Hunan Province.Questionnaire surveys were conducted on the following aspects of middle school bullying: the frequency,differences,types,frequent time and places,personal situations,coping styles and influences.The result shows that the bullying phenomenon in urban junior middle schools is relatively common.Boys are more likely to proactively bully others than girls,students with poor grades are more prone to bully others.The common bullying types are verbal-bullying,physical-bullying,relational-bullying and network-bullying.The Bullying mainly happen on the way home after school and mostly around the corners of the school and net bars,lanes and underground passages outside school.The bully and the bullied are troubled by the family or psychological problems.Different groups respond differently to bullying.The bullied are most eager to get psychological counseling and the secondis to ask school to punish the bully strictly and let the bully and their parents receive education together.The bullied have been affected to varying degrees in psychology and behavior.Based on this,it is analyzed that the bullying of urban junior middle school is caused by many factors.The dominant role of the school is insufficient,such as the influence of the school's internal environment,emphasizing more intellectual education than moral education,inadequate punishment for school bullying.The family's educational responsibilities are absent,such as disharmonious relationship and improper family education.The particularity of the physical and mental development of junior middle school students,such as personal psychological problems,the little awareness of legal rules and so on.The society draw little attention to school bullying,such as the influence of the surrounding environment of school,the lack of specific laws and the effective operational guidance,the influence of network violence culture on junior middle school students and the lack of a joint force.Based on this,here are the prevention strategies and suggestions: We should pay attention to the prevention of school bullying,strengthening teachers' professional ethics construction and anti-bullying education,reinforcing legal rules and mental health education,strengthening teachers' prevention and control work ability training and the construction of campus culture to build a comprehensive prevention system.We should attach importance to the construction of school security system,the handling of school bullying incidents and parents' active cooperation to improve the governance system.We are obliged to cohere all parties in the joint construction of parent schools,building a school-family-community prevention platform,the integration of social resources and creating a good network environment to build jointly prevention system.
