University administrative staff or what was known as university secretaries serves as an invisible bridge between the administrator and the staff as well as students to smooth out internal and external services.The administrative secretaries of Chinese and English universities are similar in terms of their responsibilities.This dissertation takes Lancaster University as the object of investigation.Invest the management work of UK universities' administrative secretaries,compares it with Chinese university,and draws on its positive aspects to improve the work level of the administrative staff in Chinese university.The introduction,first,sorts out the comprehensive study of university administrators in China and the UK universities.In the first chapter,the author tries to conduct a survey on the profile of Lancaster University and its administrative secretaries,the management of the university's administrative staff,and the work of the university's administrative secretaries.On this basis,it summarizes the characteristics of the management of administrative secretaries in British universities.The second chapter analyzes the status quo of the references,summarizing the characteristics of the management of administrative secretaries in China's universities and the problems of its management.The third chapter compares the similarities and differences between the management of administrative secretaries in Chinese and UK universities.Explored the reasons for the differences.The fourth chapter summarizes the problems existing in the management of administrative secretaries China universities,and then proposes improvement strategies.The conclusions of this dissertation are that there are big differences of the administrative secretarial management between Chinese and UK universities in terms of job setting,selection mechanism,performance evaluation mechanism,reward mechanism,personnel type and professionalism,guiding ideology and employee satisfaction.The specific reasons for the differences between the two universities are due to the differences in the history of higher education in the two countries,higher education and school system,internal management mechanisms,and guiding ideology.China's universities can promote the development of the administrative work of Chinese college administrators by strengthening the selection and performance appraisal mechanism,clarifying job responsibilities,focusing on team professional construction and personal training.
