Study On Comparison Of Chemistry Teachers' Books In High School Between China And America

With the release of New Curriculum Standard,the reform of textbooks is urgent and teacher's book is a good helper for teachers to study textbooks and grasp the content framework of textbooks.This paper aims to give some suggestions on the compilation of high school chemistry teacher's book in China through comparing the different editions of chemistry teacher's book in China with those in the United States and combining the most intuitive feelings of the front-line teachers on the use of chemistry teacher's book.Firstly,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the current situation of teachers' books through literature research,then conducts a questionnaire survey on the current situation of teachers' books in China,and then compares the forms and contents of Prentice Hall edition of chemistry teachers' books in the United States and three editions of high school chemistry teachers' books in China.This paper also compares the column setting and layout design of the teacher's book in form,establishes a comparative framework through the analysis,guidance,assistance and evaluation functions of teacher's books,and then compares the contents of the two countries to obtain the compilation characteristics of China and the United States.Finally,through interviews,this paper collects the most intuitive feelings and suggestions of the front-line teachers about the high school chemistry teacher's book in China and the United States.The results are as follows:(1)Front-line teachers believe that the three aspects of "textbook analysis","teaching suggestions" and "teaching reference materials" in domestic teachers' books are of great help to teachers.However,there are some improvements in every edition of teachers' books: the edition of Jiangsu Education Publishing House needs to strengthen the case of teaching design and the guidance of learning activities;the edition of Shandong Science and Technology Publishing House needs to focus on improving the guidance of learning activities and teaching suggestions;and the edition of People's Education Publishing House needs to increase the analysis of difficult problems and the design of teaching cases.And the factors affecting the use of teachers' books are: the sense of the times and the advancement of the content of teachers' books,the specific level of teaching suggestions and so on..(2)Prentice Hall Chemistry Teacher's Book has the characteristics of diverse design of learning activities,detailed and specific teaching suggestions,rich and diverse constitutional materials and so on.(3)Comparing the three editions of Chinese senior high school chemistry teachers' books,the edition published by Shandong Science and Technology Publishing House has the rich and detailed content and pays attention to evaluating students;The edition published by Jiangsu Education Publishing House is focusing on clarifying difficulties and attaching importance to experimental guidance;The edition published by People's Education Publishing House is paying attention to the analysis of the context,emphasize the use of columns.Generally speaking,there are some shortcomings in the three versions,such as lack of specific suggestions and single design of learning activities.(4)Teachers' feeling of using the teacher's books published by American Prentice Hall is as follows: adopting mosaic typesetting with clear arrangement,having the rich learning activity design cases,providing detailed experimental teaching guidance,etc.(5)Teachers' suggestions for improvement of teachers' books include: refining teaching suggestions,increasing experimental materials,strengthening evaluation modules,and providing interpretation of curriculum standards.(6)New and old teachers have different expectations and demands for the use of books by teachers.New teachers hope that teachers' books can provide quick and direct teaching help,such as providing complete teaching design cases and teaching suggestions for constitutional materials.Old teachers hope that teachers' books can provide flexible and targeted teaching cases,materials for vocational education,teaching activities at different levels,classroom exercises at different levels and supplementary exercises after class at different levels.It is suggested that chemistry teacher's book should be arranged in mosaic style with rich columns and one-to-one correspondence;Chemistry core literacy should be the core and teaching objectives that are easy to observe and evaluate should be provided according to the requirements of curriculum standards.;Guiding suggestions for teaching process should be based on "problem situation-activity-knowledge";class hours or unit teaching design cases should be provided with theme or task as the main line in order toimplement the cultivation of chemical discipline literacy;strengthen the evaluation module of chemistry teacher's book to promote the integration of "teaching,learning and evaluating";strengthen the module of difficult problems solving to promote teaching;provide true and contextual materials and attach importance to the content which should keep pace with the time.
