In order to meet the needs of cultivating innovative talents in our country,our basic education is in constant reform,and every reform is accompanied by the improvement of teaching materials.The compilation of textbooks according to curriculum standards is the most direct tool for teachers' teaching and students' learning,which can best embody the advanced concepts and educational ideas of basic education reform.Therefore,in the process of basic education curriculum reform,the reform of teaching materials occupies an important position.By using the methods of literature analysis,statistical analysis and comparative study,this paper makes a comparative study of Compulsory Education Biology Curriculum Standard(2011 edition)in mainland China and Natural and Life Science and Technology Learning Field of Nine-year National Primary and Secondary Schools in Taiwan,and then makes a comparative study of Mainland People's Education Edition and South Taiwan Junior Middle School Biology Textbook in terms of structure and content system.The comparison of curricula includes the comparison of the framework of curricula structure,the comparison of curriculum objectives and the comparison of specific content standards.The comparison of textbooks starts from the structure,including four aspects: writing style,column setting,binding design(including cover and illustration)and after-school exercises.Content comparison is made from the selection of knowledge points in textbooks,the arrangement of specific knowledge,the setting of experimental content and the comparison of STS educational content.Finally,the similarities and characteristics of the two textbooks are summarized,and the following enlightenments are obtained from the compilation of biology textbooks for junior middle school students in mainland China:1.Skillfully using cartoon cartoons to improve the interest of textbooks;2.Optimizing the illustrations of textbooks to deepen the intuitive impression;3.Simplifying the columns of textbooks to enhance the features;4.Emphasizing experimental safety and enhancing selectivity;5.Perfecting experimental operation to guide independent experiments;6.Increase the depth of knowledge appropriately,pay attention to linking up with highschool;7.Pay attention to penetrating STS education and cultivating students' critical thinking;8.Broaden learning channels and attach importance to extracurricular resources.
