Since the first operation of the college counselor system in China,colleges and universities have trained a number of outstanding social elites and high-end talents for our country.In this process,counselors play a crucial role in the whole educating team,and now they have become an indispensable backbone force in colleges and universities.With the passage of time,the continuous development and progress of society not only affects the growth and life of contemporary college students,but also brings new requirements for the role of counselors.The past role play of counselors can not satisfy the current social role,so the role play of counselors should be changed with The Times.This article mainly through to the instructors and students in interviews and other forms of the current counselor role behavior analysis to study the role and the difficulties and challenges faced,find out why,and to analyze the American student affairs management experience,put forward to solve the counselor role the difficulties and challenges faced by the countermeasure and the suggestion.The article is divided into the following parts:The paper begins with a review of the evolution of the five stages of the origin,exploration,twists and turns,development,and innovation of the role of the counselor.During this period,the counselor evolved from the original single role of ideological and political education instructor into a set of ideological and political education instructor,student affairs manager and student campus life service as one.Later,through the collection of relevant policy documents,interviews with counselors and college students,and the distribution of questionnaires to students,we learned about the current expectations of the role of counselors in the country,colleges and universities,and further analyzed the current educational,management,and behavioral roles of counselors.I believe that the service behavior of the counselor is mainly reflected in the ideological and political education of students;the management behavior is mainly reflected in the standardization and management of student campus life;the service behavior is mainly reflected in the provision of counseling and counseling services to students.In the end,it was found that the external challenges faced by the current counselor role were mainly caused by the social environment,network temptation,and social role cognition confusion;whilethe internal difficulties were mainly caused by the ignorance of the role of the counselor,excessive role pressure,Caused by character professionalism and low skills.The following suggestions are put forward: First,by drawing on the mature experience of student affairs management in American colleges and universities,it is concluded that the state and universities should increase the awareness of mentor training and increase efforts to provide favorable development space and opportunities for mentors;The second is that the counselor should be proficient in practical network skills and use the information network to do a good job of the students.The third is to strengthen the outside world's understanding of the role of the counselor to improve the sense of identification with the counselor.The fourth is that the counselor should reasonably adjust his role Gather conflicts to alleviate personal pressure.Fifth,the counselor should continue to reflect and improve his ability to improve personal literacy and psychological quality.Sixth,the counselor should strengthen the professional theoretical level and skills of his own role.
