In recent years,China's economy has developed rapidly, with GDP growing by261 percent in the 12 years from 2007 to 2018 and per capita GDP growing by 241 percent from 2007 to 2018.Economic conditions have improved dramatically, raising people's living standards and widening the gap in income distribution. In 2015,the Gini coefficient of China's per capita disposable income reached 0.46,exceeding the international standard of 0.4.In 2017,the Gini coefficient rose to 0.47,and there is a trend of further increase. In 1955,economist Kuznets put forward the "inverted U hypothesis" of income distribution gap, believing that with the continuous growth of the economy, the level of income inequality also changes in different periods.Income inequality rises rapidly in the early stages of economic growth, then flattens out for a while, and then declines in the later stages of economic growth. Some literature research suggests that,China's income distribution gap in the early stages of economic growth, which can grow as the economy and presents the tendency of expanding rapidly, and the widening of the income distribution gap trend will not only restrict the high-quality development of our economy, but also pose an uncertain threat to the stability of our society.Human capital accounts for a large proportion in the contribution to promoting economic growth and is also the basic element of people's income, the more human capital is accumulated, the more beneficial it will be to economic development and social stability. With the continuous improvement of the level of economic development, the accumulation of human capital will rapidly enhance the promotion of economicgrowth, but the negative impact of income inequality on economic development will also deepen. In order to promote economic development to a higher level, efforts should be made to narrow the income distribution gap and improve the accumulation of human capital. Therefore,it is of certain research significance to study the effect of income distribution gap on human capital accumulation in China. In the past,a large number of relevant literatures mainly studied the impact of human capital on income distribution gap,and also analyzed the causes of income gap and the trend of income gap change from the perspective of human capital. However, there is not enough research on the effect of income distribution gap on human capital accumulation. Therefore, under the special background of dual economy in China, this paper adopts the analytical method combining qualitative and quantitative analysis, adopts the panel data of 31 provinces in China for 12 years from 2007 to2018,and establishes the fixed effect model to study the impact of the income distribution gap between urban and rural areas on the accumulation of educational capital and healthy capital. This paper firstly analyzes the data of income distribution gap and human capital accumulation in China in recent years to understand the change trend of the two,and also analyzes the change of human capital stock in the case of income distribution gap.Due to the economic development in recent years, the accumulation of human capital keeps increasing, but there are significant differences between urban and rural areas as well as between regions. It can be roughly assumed that the income distribution gap has a negative effect on the accumulation of human capital.Since a single variable cannot reflect the accumulation of human capital well, this paper adopts the comprehensive index of education and health to represent the accumulation of human capital instead of a single variable. The regression results show that the widening income distribution gap has a negative effect on human capital accumulation, which is consistent with the hypothesis and has a significant effect. In order to promote better and faster economic development, both individuals, governments and countries should make efforts to narrow the income distribution gap and improve the awareness and ability of human capital accumulation.
