| For promoting the “new class reforms and new Entrance Examination for College”,in the Chinese STEM Education Development Conference which was held in Chengdu,accelerating STEM Education Development,innovating STEM Education Model and enhancing interdisciplinary cooperation were proposed.The High School Biology Elective Content 3 is about the principle and operating procedures of bioengineering,and the Elective 1 is about practical exercises of biotechnology.Each of them has its focus but they are closely related.According to the characteristics of STEM Education,carrying out educational activities based on STEM Education in the High School Biology Elective Content has practical importance for improving students' general abilities of solving problems.This research based on tidying up relevant literature of STEM Education,taking students of second senior in No.2 Middle School in Xiaoshan District,Hangzhou as objects,dividing two parallel clases' students into the experimental group and the control group.Offering clase activities designed based on STEM Education concept to students of the experimental group and normal traditional didactic teaching activities to students of the control group.There are tests of content before and after the students having learned the instruction of experiments.Datas that are taken in both times are analysed to discuss the impact of different experimental education methods for students' solving and generally analysing the elective content's abilities.The students of the experimental group fill in the Student Questionnaire after the instruction of experiments,thus to discuss their feelings after having the clases designed based on STEM Education concept.The questionnaire is designed with six questions of three projects,the researching results are: 1,the 85% of the students have chosen 5 points in the first problem and 75% of them have also chosen 5 points in the second problem of the favourite degree of the clases designed based on STEM concept,which show that the most of them likes that the theories that are useful and learning process that can be practised.2,In the students' recognition of using STEM theory to learn enhancing the abilities of solving problems in the daily life,up to 90% of them think that the fourth question is very useful,and only 60% has chosen 5 points in the sixth question.They think that the concrete knowledge that they have learned from particular learning cases is quite practical,but most of them are uncertain of if their abilities of solving daily problems are really enhanced.In the question of their concentration and persistence of the content designed based on STEM concept,70% of them have chosen 5 points in the third question.The persistence is research by their grades,because the students who have been actively studying normally their grades are not influenced.In the research results,95% of them have chosen 5 points,they think this method of learning is interesting and makes them focused in studying,so their grades have been raised.Using the SPSS to relatively analyse the learning outcomes,it shows that the average grade has been noticeably improved,the test t shows that it is close to the most distinct difference value.The conclusion is that carrying out the STEM Education in the elective content is helpful for the increment of the students' learning habits and interest and enhancing their abilities of generally solving problems.But right now in the teaching in the school the STEM Education is not focused yet.So three suggestions of solving this problem are proposed: 1,the educational authorities promote and refine STEM Education system.2,the colleges should consciously train qualified teachers with STEM accomplishment.3,Meanwhile promoting STEM Education in the teaching of the High School Biology,indicating the career direction. |
