With the information age arrival,we have a higher level of talent training requirements,the content and means of secondary education are being updated.National Middle and Long-term Educational Reform and Development Plan(2010-2020)also puts forward a series of requirements for the high-quality development of education in China.In high school geography classrooms,the mode of teaching assisted by teachers through technical means is rising gradually,such as multimedia and digital earth.Documentary film has the advantages of strong space-time expression,wide range and vivid image,which not only makes up for the blank of traditional teaching relying solely on language description,but also complies with the requirements of the new curriculum standard,morality and human cultivation,provides new teaching forms to meet the personalized development of students,enriches the teaching resources and knowledge testing resources of high and middle school geography classes.In this paper,under the requirements of core literacy,based on modern education concepts such as information processing learning theory and constructivism theory,the role and value of documentary in high school geography classroom are discussed through teaching experiments and examination paper investigation.In particular,how to select documentary,the operation process of documentary teaching,how to maximize the teaching value of documentary,and the teaching effect of using documentary in high school geography class are discussed and studied.Finally,it analyzes the content of the documentary that can be used for case teaching in each chapter of the 2017 new compulsory textbook,supplemented by the design and case of documentary,so as to make the geography classroom of documentary teaching more novel and effective.
