Nowadays,father presence has been paid more and more attention in the realm of family education,which has an important impact on children's mental health,personality development and social adaptation.Senior high school students are in a period of highly developed social attributes,and their social adaptability and interpersonal communication skills are important indicators of the development of their social attributes.This paper's research group is senior high school students,analyses the relationship among father's presence,social adaptability and interpersonal communication skills,analyses the influence of the father presence on social adaptability and interpersonal communication skills,which dimensions of father presence affect individual's social adaptability and interpersonal communication skills,and whether father presence can predict social adaptability and interpersonal communication skills.It provides empirical materials and reliable suggestions for the specific research of high school students' father presence and its impact on individual social adaptive behavior.In this study,256 students from Binhai New Area of Tianjin were selected as subjects by using the "the father presence Scale for Middle School Students","Social Adaptability Questionnaire for Middle School Students" and "interpersonal communication skills Questionnaire".The data collected were processed and analyzed by SPSS20.0 and Mplus software.The results are as follows:(1)The overall situation of senior high school students' father presence,social adaptability and interpersonal communication skills is higher.(2)There are significant differences in the four demographic variables of the paternity level of senior high school students: whether their parents have only one child,whether they live with their parents,the frequency of communication with their fathers and whether their parents have divorced.(3)There are significant differences in social adaptability between senior high school students in terms of age,whether their parents have only one child,and the frequency of communication with their father.(4)There are significant differences in interpersonal communication skills between senior high school students in terms of age and whether their parents are divorced.(5)The father presence can predict the social adaptability and interpersonal communication skills of senior high school students.Among them,father-son affection and participation perception have a significant impact on social adaptability,while participation perception and father influence have a marginalimpact on interpersonal communication skills.(6)Social adaptability partially mediates the relationship between father presence and interpersonal communication skills.
