The physical and mental health of adolescents is the basis of their future social achievements and is also related to the development and future of a country.Nowadays,mental health education in schools shoulders the great responsibility of promoting the healthy growth of teenagers.Therefore,as the carrier of mental health education,the teaching materials of mental health education have become particularly important.How the quality of the teaching materials will directly affect the implementation effect of mental health education for teenagers.This article selects the Macmillan and McGraw-Hill published the Health & Wellness(primary school),and publishing group,Beijing normal university press,Guo-Liang Yu,editor of the "mental Health"(elementary school)as the research object,using literature analysis,comparative research and content analysis method to the writing of the two sets of teaching materials on the basis of content,structure,knowledge,setting up the content such as do contrast analysis,by comparing the mental Health education in China and the United States the teaching material content and layout.This paper explores the advantages and disadvantages of the two sets of textbooks,and draws on the excellent experience to constantly improve the compilation of mental health education textbooks for primary schools in China,so as to improve the quality of mental health education textbooks for primary schools in China and further promote the healthy development of young students both physically and mentally.There are six chapters in this paper: the first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the research background,purpose and significance of the research,the research objects and methods,and the research status of mental health education in China and the United States.The second chapter defines relevant concepts and introduces the basis of relevant theoretical research.The third chapter introduces and compares the compilation basis of Chinese and American textbooks.The fourth chapter analyzes the content setting of the textbook and makes a detailed comparative analysis of the knowledge content of thetextbook.The fifth chapter analyzes the differences between the two sets of textbooks from the perspective of textbook arrangement and discusses the functions of different programs in teaching.The sixth chapter makes a summary and analysis of the research results and puts forward relevant Suggestions for the compilation of health education textbooks in China.Two sets of teaching materials of the comparison results show that the teaching materials of "the Health & Wellness" classroom teaching goal clear,typesetting,lively classroom teaching design diversity,rich in content and pay attention to adolescent Health knowledge skill and the cultivation of the ability of independent Health,from junior to senior course teaching content of incremental spiral trajectory improved depth of content,accords with the cognitive development law of teenagers.The compilation of "mental health"Takes into account China's actual national conditions and students' schoolwork burden,and pays attention to the learning of basic knowledge and basic skills.However,its content setting and structure arrangement are relatively monotonous,and it focuses more on the receptive learning of knowledge content,which needs to be further optimized in many aspects.
