Along with the release of "Notice on Further Piloting of Study Travel for Primary and Middle School Students" and "Opinions on Promoting Study Travel for Primary and Middle School Students",study travel has gradually become a hot spot and new favorite in the fields of education and tourism.Various regions have responded to the call to actively carry out study travel.However,the quality of the implementation of study travel is not high,and alienation such as vulgarization and weighting of study travel has occurred.These alienation are mainly due to insufficient research on study travel,and one of the most critical reasons is the lack of a professional study travel tutor team.The study travel tutor is the designer and organizer of the study travel,which directly affects the quality of the study travel implementation.However,relevant departments have not yet issued relevant policies to put forward specific requirements for study travel tutors,leading to unclear responsibilities and positioning of study travel tutors.The practitioners are mixed and there is low professional study travel tutor team.Therefore,improving the quality of study travel should start with cultivating a group of professional study travel tutors.It is urgent to extract and construct the competencies of study travel tutors,so as to lay a solid theoretical foundation for the professional development of study travel tutors.The educational function of study travel is an important logical starting and ending point of this study.The specific education function determines the specific competencies of the study travel tutor.And whether the study travel educationfunction can be achieved depends on whether the study travel tutor has the corresponding competencies.During the construction of the study travel tutors' competency model,combining literature research and empirical research,focused on the educational function of study travel,the study is aiming to build a competency model of study travel tutors.And based on the competency model,the study try to explore applied research,that is designing training courses for study travel tutors.The main research conclusions obtained are:First,by combing research and policy documents related to study travel at home and abroad,we can see that the educational functions of study travel mainly include fostering students' national feelings,healthy living habits,responsibility,practical ability,creative materialization,and understanding of society and nature.This lays the foundation for this study and provides a reference for solving the problem of vulgarization of study travel.Secondly,by combing the relevant literature on the competencies of study travel tutors,teachers,and tour guides at home and abroad,work analysis methods,behavioral event interview methods,the study preliminary extract of the competencies of study travel tutors.The competencies extracted by the above three methods are summarized.After expert opinion consultation and modification,the study travel tutor competency model is initially constructed.Third,according to the preliminary constructed competency model,a study travel tutor questionnaire was prepared to verify the model.A total of 416 valid questionnaires were collected.The results of the questionnaire analysis showed that the Cronbach 's Alpha coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.957,so its reliability was high.The KMO metric is 0.948,which means the questionnaire is suitable for factor analysis.Exploratory factor analysis shows that the structure of the questionnaire is basically consistent with the theoretically constructed study travel tutor competency model.Correlation analysis also shows that there is a high positive correlation between model dimensions.After fine-tuning according to the results of exploratory factor analysis,a study travel tutor competency model consisting of 40 competence characteristics including knowledge,skills,self-concept,traits,and motivation wasfinally constructed,which would promote the achievement of the educational function of study travel.Fourth,The goal of the study travel tutor training course is to let trainers obtain the competencies.Based on the study travel tutor competency model,this study try designing a training course concept,objectives and content,focusing on explicit and potential competencies.At the same time,a training evaluation featuring "micro-certification" is also designed,and the ultimate goal is to promote achieving the educational function of study travel.This is the application approach and value of this study in study travel tutors training.
