In this new media reading and traditional media reading coexistence of the environment,everyone will inevitably come into contact with a large number of information from a variety of media,the higher grades of primary school students in the media integration is the growth of the "indigenous".On the Internet,the handheld mobile terminal as a representative of the new media to break the traditional reading extracurricular reading time and region,makes students either reading or reading habits,carrier,frequency is hitherto unknown change,online reading,mobile phone reading time penetrated into the lives of students.However,the new media is a latent crisis and the temptation of the carrier,its information rapid,a lot of communication state,browsing,fragmented ‘Superficial reading',fake,vulgar ‘junk culture' increasing,combined with the higher grades of primary school students physical and mental development is not mature,cognitive level is not in place and other factors,determines the traditional reading mode cannot be replaced.Traditional and new media integration can play the best performance of reading guidance.The advantage of integrating traditional and new media is the inevitable trend of teachers' guidance on extracurricular reading of students in senior primary school.In this paper,the higher grades students in Whampoa District Dashadi area primary school as the research object.First of all,describe the purpose and significance of the paper,at home and abroad to review the overview of extracurricular reading,and explain the relevant concepts and theories.Secondly,the questionnaire and the attitudes,reading methods and habits,reading frequency and carrier,reading content and reading source of the higher grades of primary school students in Whampoa District Dashadi area were investigated and interviewed,and the problems of reading were analyzed.Then,combined with the advantages of the traditional and new media reading environment,from the effective selection of books,mining reading resources to mobilize students to read interest;a clear purpose of reading,pay attention to grasp the reading method to develop students good reading habits;focus on reading and upgrading teachers and students,Carry out extra-curricular reading instruction action research activities and other dimensions to explore the higher grades primary school students practicing extracurricular reading guidance feasible strategy.Finally,through the questionnaire survey,the effect of reading instruction of extracurricular the higher grades of primary school students in Dashadi area under the new and traditional media is reflected and evaluated.
