The period of the Republic of China is not only a special period of replacement of the old and the new,but also an important period of China's education development and reform.Studying the situation of Chinese teaching materials in the period of the Republic of China is of great significance to understand the situation of Chinese education in primary schools at that time and to promote the reform and construction of Chinese teaching materials at present.Because of the influence of Dewey's thought of children centered education,primary school textbooks at that time began to attach importance to children's important position,and there was a trend of textbook's child orientation,and the thought of children centered education has been deeply rooted in people's hearts.Therefore,the study of New mandarin reader is not only a concern for the education of the Republic of China,but also for the development of children's status in the period of social transformation.This article selects a typical representative from the diversified primary school Chinese textbooks during the Republic of China period-" New mandarin reader ".Through the understanding of the overall situation and background of " New mandarin reader ",the selection of fairy tales in " New mandarin reader " I conducted in-depth analysis and discussion with the writing situation,and conducted a statistical analysis from the aspects,content,thoughts and characteristics of fairy tale selection,and concluded that the characteristics of fairy tale selection in the textbook are as follows: 1.The number,content and arrangement of fairy tales are more Scientific and reasonable,not only in line with the characteristics of children's physical and mental development,but also in line with social life.2.The educational thoughts reflected in the fairy tales in the textbooks are deeply educational and artistic,and focus on cultivating children's good quality and behavior.3.The fairy tales contain "child-oriented" values,providing children with the correct value orientation.Then explore the status of fairy tales in textbooks,as well as the educational ideas and educational values contained in the fairy tales selected in the textbooks.And by comparing with the current textbooks published by the People's Education Press,it puts forward its own views on the selection and content of fairy tales in the textbooks,draws realistic revelations,and puts forward its own suggestions for the selection criteria of fairy tales in the current textbooks.
