College teachers are the direct and concrete executors of China's training of socialist and reliable successors,and also the backbone of scientific and technological progress and innovation.The level of college teachers' income level and the evaluation of salary satisfaction have a very important role in stimulating the enthusiasm of college teachers.How to improve the satisfaction of teachers through the design of the salary system,and enhance the enthusiasm and creativity of their work,has become the focus of human resources development and management in colleges and universities.In recent years,the salary system structure and income distribution system of college teachers in Southwest China have changed,and the salary level of teachers has also been significantly improved.However,due to the influence of regional economy status,social development level and traditional thinking mode,there are still many problems in the current college teachers' compensation system in the western China region,resulting in low teacher salary satisfaction and low enthusiasm for teaching and research.This paper adopts the salary satisfaction scale revised by Du Ping and Xie Yao in China,and makes corresponding modifications through pre-test.Finally,the salary satisfaction survey tool in this study is formed.In this study,280 teachers were randomly selected from 7 universities in the Southwest for a questionnaire survey,and 248 questionnaires were effectively collected.In the analysis of the survey results,the basic situation of the salary of college teachers in Southwest China is analyzed firstly,then the demographic characteristics(gender,age),job type(teaching post,administrative post,teaching management),institute type(specialty college,General undergraduate colleges,211/985 colleges and universities),individual devotion(education,time of appointment,title)and other factors,the difference analysis of salary satisfaction;finally based on the theory of fairness,the relationship between personal fairness and salary satisfaction.Finally,based on the survey results,the author puts forward some suggestions for the salary management of college teachers in Southwest China.The results of this study show that: First,the overall income level of college teachers in Southwest China is low,teacher satisfaction is low,and the average is between normal and comparatively unsatisfactory.Second,there is a significant difference in teacher salary satisfaction in terms of age,job type,school type,education,time of appointment,and job title.Third,most of the college teachers in Southwest China believe that their satisfaction with actual output is very low with reference to their own work input.
