The concept of data analysis was clearly put forward in the Compulsory Education Curriculum Standard(2011 Edition),which means that before solving practical problems,we should realize that problem solving requires investigation and study,data collection,data analysis,summary and judgement,ect.,and understand relevant information from the data.It is emphasized that students can use a variety of analytical methods to collect and analyze data in practical mathematics learning,and the selection of appropriate methods should be made by students according to the background of specific problems.In the whole process of data collection,analysis and summary,students can experience the randomness.In other words,students can understand the same problem after many times of analysis and collection of different data.The concept of data analysis is one of the essential mathematical core qualities of every student.Therefore,paying attention to the formation of students' concept of data analysis has become an important goal in mathematics teaching.This paper adopts literature analysis method,test method,questionnaire survey method and interview method.Through consulting the literature and other relevant materials to further analyze the connotation and characteristics of the concept of data analysis,in-depth analysis of the mathematics teaching materials of grade 7.According to the characteristics of the students in grade 7,the level framework and dimensions of the concept of data analysis are divided into data collection,data sorting,data analysis and description.Each dimension is divided into three levels as evaluation standard.According to that a qualified test paper is compiled,then conducts a test and draws a conclusion.What's more,a questionnaire is prepared from the three dimensions of the difficulty of teaching material,the learning style of students and the the teaching style of teachers,in order to investigate the factors influencing the formation of the concept of data analysis,and to analyze whether the test results have a certain correlation with the results of the questionnaire survey.Besides,through the interview method,we can roughly understand the middle school mathematics teachers' understanding of the connotation of the concept of data analysis,so as to do conduct further qualitative research.In the end,the following conclusions are obtained by combining the analysis results of SPSS software and EXCELLsoftware.(1)Seventh grade students lack understanding of data analysis concepts;(2)The overall level of data analysis concepts of seventh grade students is low;(3)The actual teaching lacks knowledge of comprehensive practical activities;Based on the conclusion of the investigation and research,the enlightenment to mathematics teaching is as follows:(1)Pay attention to infiltrating the concept of data analysis in teaching;(2)Pay attention to students' overall experience of data analysis;(3)Pay attention to the application of comprehensive practical activities.
