Along with the social progress, scientific and technological innovation promote the rapid dissemination of information, that will make mastering the thinking method of statistics a necessary survival skill for mankind in the twenty-first century. To further improve the curriculum of Statistics and Probability will become a world focus in the future because of the innovation of curriculum standards. So, at present, finding out which level of development on the concept of data analysis do the students stay is of great urgency, which is the topic of the thesis.By reviewing extensive literature on access,we find out that almost all the research are point at the seventh grade students or focuses on the contrastive analysis of the learning situation among the students in grade seven, eight and nine. This thesis focuses on the mastery of the data analysis conception after receiving 9 years of compulsory education. This paper selects nine grade students as the research object because they have completed all the courses in the compulsory education in the second semester.Guided by the qualitative approach, in this thesis, we first discussed the connotation of the concept and the evaluation framework of data analysis, which was the t theoretical foundation for the following parts, then we firstly used SOLO Taxonomy as a framework for horizontal partition of the three dimensions of the concept of data analysis to build the evaluation model.We edited the test paper based on this model, and took over 600 nine-grade students in Sichuan Nanchong province as the object of this study. Here comes to the conclusion through making a qualitative and quantitative analysis about the test result,which is consisted of three parts: the overall level of data analysis concept, the specific circumstances of each dimension and the correlation between academic achievement and gender. Conclusions are as follows:1.The current statue of the “concept of data analysis” of nine-grade students were low.2.Students showed better performance in the means of data analysis and randomness than the awareness of data.3.The developmental level of the concept of data analysis is positively correlated with mathematics achievement, while has nothing to do with gender difference.Combined with the psychological characteristics of the students in the stage of compulsory education, too much emphasis on people-oriented can enhance the activity of interference. The guiding role of teachers in the teaching process was particularly important,because the probability and statistics curriculum content was more close to life, putting more emphasis on practical, and was more active and operational activity and stronger operabilityThe author did some research on the lesson study using the observation method,and interviewed four teachers who were randomly selected for the purpose of getting a deep understanding of the teachers’ cognition of the data analysis.For the above, the author gives some teaching suggestions about how to change the unsatisfactory statue of the “concept of data analysis” of nine-grade students...
