Tourism,as a key development project in China,has encountered some problems with insufficient potential in the rapid development in recent years.In the final analysis,the supply of high-end tourism talents in China is not in place,which requires tourism colleges and universities to make reforms to improve the quality and ability of tourism talents.As the leader of teaching activities,tourism teachers have a great influence on students.From ancient times to the present,there are different opinions on what role teachers should play.As the main body of educational activities,students can more easily shape the image of a good teacher in the eyes of students only if they make clear the needs of the main body and integrate their opinions into daily teaching activities.This paper takes the students of tourism management as the research object to study the role expectation of tourism management teachers.First of all,through the analysis and arrangement of the literature of teachers' role expectation,based on the role expectation theory in sociology,this paper summarizes the relevant guiding documents of the state,interviews some students and open-ended questionnaires,codes and arranges the interview materials,selects and extracts the expectation indexes of students majoring in Tourism Management for teachers' role,and then invites them to join us The first draft of the questionnaire was compiled by experts and scholars.More than 80% of the items in the questionnaire are from interviews and open-ended questionnaires,and a few of the items refer to the relevant questionnaires.Spss22 is used to analyze the data,and factor analysis method is used to extract seven factors of students' expectation of teachers' role,including 31 items.Seven factors are teaching attitude,teaching ability,appearance,connivance behavior,scientific research ability,experience background,teacher-student relationship.Then through independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA,it is concluded that there are gender and grade differences in the role expectations of tourism management students.On the whole,the first year students have the highest expectation of teachers,the third year students have the lowest expectation of teachers;girls have higher expectation of teachers than boys.In the three dimensions of teaching ability,connivance behavior and scientific research ability,the expectation of junior students is lower than that of freshmen,sophomores and senior students;in the two dimensions of appearance and experience background,the expectation of female students for teachers' role is significantly higher than that of male students.Then,the importance of the seven factors of the students' expectation of the role of teachers is ranked from high to low by the method of multiple linear regression,which are teaching ability,experience background,teacher-student relationship,connivance behavior,scientific research ability,appearance and teaching attitude.Finally,the data results are analyzed,and suggestions on improving the role of tourism management teachers are put forward from the aspects of teaching ability,teacher-student relationship,social experience,etc.This study is conducive to the improvement of teachers' personal ability and the overall teaching quality of tourism management specialty by clarifying students' expectations for teachers.Hope to provide some theoretical suggestions for tourism management professional recruitment and assessment of teachers.
