Classical Chinese reading plays a significant role in the subject of Chinese.All the important ancient Chinese books,of course,are written in the form of classical Chinese.If students want to know the treasures of Chinese history,culture and literature,they must have the ability to read classical Chinese.Though the Chinese education circle gives high priority to classical Chinese teaching,many students are still afraid of difficulties in classical Chinese reading.As a result of the lack of the method of classical Chinese reading,many students can only learn by rote or translate word for word.They don't gain much knowledge of the ideological feelings and cultural connotations concerning the articles,even hate learning classical Chinese,especially junior high school students first contact with classical Chinese in textbooks,many students tend to be deficient in reading ability.This study,mainly based on the problem of junior high school students' deficient ability in classical Chinese reading,explored students' reading performance and difficulties in four aspects: speech recognition,interpretation and inference,extraction and integration of information,and comparative study,with the aim of providing some empirical materials so that teachers can have a more comprehensive understanding of students' mastery of classical Chinese,in an effort to enhance the reading ability of classical Chinese of students with reading difficulties in junior high school.The main contents of this paper are as follows:The first part clarifies the related concepts of junior middle school students' ability in classical Chinese reading,including Chinese ability,Chinese reading ability,junior middle school students' ability in classical Chinese reading,and the definition of the concept of junior middle school students with reading difficulties.And by analyzing ten sets of mid-term examination papers from five regions in 2018-2019,the reading ability of classical Chinese of junior middle school students with reading difficulties is divided into phonetic reading ability,information extraction and integration ability,interpretation and inference ability,and comparative reading ability.The second part combines questionnaire and interview.It investigated the reading ability of classical Chinese of junior middle school students with reading difficulties,and measured the specific performance of students with reading difficulties in four classical Chinese reading abilities,and finally summarized the reasons for their low reading abilities.The third part puts forward the strategies to improve the reading ability of classical Chinese of junior middle school students,including clear training purpose,specific implementation of training strategy and reflection on the effect of implementation.The training aims are as follows: correcting the reading attitude of classical Chinese of the students with reading difficulties and promoting the development of their reading habits.The specific measures for training include:improving junior middle school students' interest in classical Chinese reading,cultivating good learning habits and training effective strategies in classical Chinese reading.
