| Studies have shown that about two-fifths of Chinese families were accompanying the children studying by 2015.A sample survey conducted by the Social Survey Center of China Youth Daily in 2017 suggested that 69.4% of parents considered the accompany studying as a common social phenomenon.After completing the policy of “withdraw points and merging schools”,there was a climax of accompanying studying in some rural areas due to the lack of perfect accommodation facilities in the merged schools.So far,accompanying studying is still common in daily lives.While most parents are trying everything to send their children to the better schools in the city and the school district housing in Beijing,Shanghai and Guangzhou has already cost over ten millions yuan,a group of parents have given up their city life and accompanied their children studying in the countryside.Who are they? Why did they have such "non-mainstream" behavior?This article is a feature.Yang Tao,the protagonist,is one of the accompanying parents in the countryside.As a receiver of public school education,he is not only a passive chooser of the Waldorf of western new education,but also an active school organizer in the meanwhile.His dual identities make him delighted that the kid grows in love and freedom and simultaneously worried about the future of her daughter and the current education.This report shows the motivation and conditions of the accompanying families in the countryside through personal stories,and also tries to see the development dilemma of non-governmental school under the new education concept,which triggers the thinking of the current education system. |
