In the government work report of 2019 and 2020,the Chinese government further puts forward the plan for enrolment expansion of higher vocational education at an attempt to bring up more technological talents.As planned,the enrolment will be expanded by 2 million.This shows the great importance attached by the national government towards vocational education.A critical factor that affects the quality of vocational education is teachers' professional abilities,so performance appraisal of teachers has become increasingly important in vocational education management.At the same time,China is actively promoting the performance-based salary reform of public institutions.To study performance appraisal of teachers for higher vocational education holds vital significance to performance-based salary reform in higher vocational colleges.In this paper,teachers' performance appraisal in CF Polytechnic College are chosen as the research objects.Based on an overview of the CF Polytechnic College and their performance appraisal,this paper uses the KPI theory and the hierarchy of needs theory for a comprehensive research.Research methods,including literature research and questionnaire survey,are combined to reveal problems,including the lack of attention,incompleteness of appraisal objective and index settings,unreasonable settings of appraisal results,and causes of these problems are analyzed.Following that,countermeasures for improvement of teachers' performance appraisal for CF Polytechnic College are proposed.Specifically,a correct outlook on teachers' performance appraisal should first be established,including shaping administrators' attention of performance appraisal,strengthening relevant training for assessors and the assessed,etc.Second,the guiding ole of the college's strategic goal in the performance appraisal should be emphasized.Meanwhile,the KPI theory should be used to improve the appraisal indexes,and teachers' performance appraisal index settings are analyzed from four dimensions based on the SMART principle.The original appraisal data and the key performance indexes screened out are combined,and the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)is used to obtain the weight of critical performance indexes.At last,attention should be paid to the improvement of the performance outcome feedback and functioning mechanism,and the incentive role of performance appraisal should be given into full play.By studying teachers' performance appraisal in CF Polytechnic College,the author hopes to effectively promote appraisal of teachers' performance and improve the college's competitiveness and also to provide reference for the establishment and upgrade of teachers' performance appraisal system in other colleges.
