Urbanization is the only way for a country to accelerate its social modernization and industrialization. The level of urbanization largely reflects the level of development of a country. In recent years,China's economic growth rate has been further slowed down due to the continuous downturn in the international macroeconomic situation, and it is urgent to seek new impetus for the sustained and healthy growth of the national economy.Urbanization process of the economic growth effect can research from two aspects: time and space were analyzed, and the use of China's 31 provinces from 2000 to 2017 data econometric model is established, and the results showed that: from the perspective of the time there is a long-term equilibrium relationship between urbanization and economic growth, urbanization level every 1% increase will have the opportunity to promote the economic growth of 1.7479%;The granger causality test of the correlation between the two shows that urbanization has an obvious promoting effect on economic growth, while the promoting effect of economic growth on urbanization is not obvious enough. From the perspective of space, firstly,China's provincial economy shows a significantly positive spatial correlation on the whole, and there is a spatial agglomeration effect with similar provincial distribution in local areas.Second, the provincial economic development shows a significant spatial dual structure with serious polarization, but the polarization effect continues to weaken with the change of time.
