In the background of economic globalization and cultural diversification,the diversity of workplace is increasing.The phenomenon that staff with different age,growth background,knowledge and skills,values and psychological needs come together to work is becoming common.Diverse workforce brings value for the organization,at the same time,however,causes many management difficulties.For example,interpersonal conflicts,delays in decision-making,resource allocation inequities occur frequently.Diversified employees' career growth in the organization is not going smoothly.In an era with high mobility of career,numerous excellent heterogeneous talents have chosen to leave,because of the absence of the career growth platform.Their departures undoubtedly damaged the interests of both employees and companies.In this evolving trend of diversification,enterprises must change their management philosophy and methods correspondingly.Compared with other types of leadership,one of the strong advantages of inclusive leadership is the adaptation in diverse situations.Inclusive leadership can maximize the value of employees with different characteristics.Therefore,exploring the effect of inclusive leadership on subordinates' career growths,not only in theory enriches inclusive leadership and professional growth research,in practice also provides guidance for the organization management.After reviewing previous literatures,this paper explored the meaning,structure of inclusive leadership.Based on Chinese context,we revised the inclusive leadership scale consisting of four factors:openness,effectiveness,accessibility,and fault tolerance.Additionally,we investigated the influence of inclusive leadership on employees'career growth,with the thriving at work as mediating variable,proactive personality as moderating variable.The study was conducted in mainland China,and 310 effective questionnaires were gathered.The data was analyzed through SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 17.0.Results of analysis reveals that:(1)Inclusive leadership is positively related to career growth;(2)Thriving at work plays a partial mediating role between inclusive leadership and employee career growth;(3)High proactive personality weakens the positive impact of inclusive leadership on thriving at work.
