Study On The Comparative Benefit Of Cotton Production And Its Influencing Factors In China

Cotton is not only the main raw material of people's clothing,but also is the strategic material which is related to the national economy and people's livelihood,and is our country's important cash crop,and also the main source of cotton farmer's income in cotton production area.Under the background of increasing cost of cotton production,accelerating choice of consumption globalization and intensifying competition of agricultural globalization.Chinese cotton is facing many problems and challenges,such as production instability,low benefits of production benefits,uneven production benefits between producing areas,serious inventory backlog,domestic and foreign prices "upside down".Therefore,the "structural reform on the supply side of agriculture" proposed by the Central Government in 2016 focuses on "de-stocking,de-capacity,deleveraging,cost reduction and improvement".The reform direction of agricultural transformation,structural adjustment and promoting reform is also the problem and development direction of cotton production in China.It is of high practical significance to discuss the comparative benefit of cotton production and its influencing factors in the present situationThis paper from two angles analyzes the comparative benefit and change characteristics of cotton production in China firstly: cotton with other competitive crops in the same area and cotton comparative benefit in different production areas.Secondly,constructing a comparative benefit analysis model for cotton production influence factor,and makes a quantitative analysis of the comparative benefit of cotton production in China.Thirdly,comparative analysis on cotton production benefits of Chinese with other cottonproducing countries,and carding those countries cotton production subsidy policy.Finally,according to the results of this study,give some corresponding countermeasures to enhance the comparative benefits of cotton production and promote coordinated development of cotton industrial structure and improve the International Competitiveness of Chinese Cotton.The results show that:(1)compared with other competitive crops,cotton production in the Yangtze and Yellow River basins of China is less efficient,but the risk of production and management is lower than other competitive crops;while in the Northwest Inland Region,cotton production in this region is relatively more efficient than other competing crops,but the production and management risks have increased year by year and are much higher than other competing crops.(2)There is a big gap between the production efficiency of the main cotton producing areas in China,the Northwest inland cotton production efficiency is the highest,the yellow river basin is the second,the Yangtze river basin is the lower,and the Northwest inland cotton cost comparative advantage is obvious in recent years.(3)The comparative benefits of cotton production in the main production range in China are most significantly affected by cotton price and national policies,and more significantly affected by the mechanization level,cotton income ratio,artificial ratio of cotton to grain,and the ratio of production value of cotton,while the comparative benefits of rural agricultural employment and the ratio of cotton to grain and the ratio of cotton meridian to cotton production are not significant.(4)Compared with the United States and India,China's cotton has obvious advantages in production value and yield,but in recent years,the increasing cost of cotton production in China and the sowing area have fluctuated relatively in the current quarter,and the international competitiveness of cotton has been insufficient.According to the research conclusions,this paper puts forward four countermeasures:(1)Overall adjustment of cotton planting structure and promotion of coordinated development of industrial structure;(2)Plan the advantage area and reserve area of cotton production scientifically and rationally,improve comparative benefit of cotton;(3)Improve the early warning and release mechanism for cotton price fluctuations and improve the costbenefit accounting system for agricultural products;(4)Recognize the status of China's cotton international market,respect the laws of the market,and increase the international competitiveness of cotton.
