The power grid enterprises have been increasingly pressurized by both external environment and internal operations.Externally,driven by China strong economy boost,the scale of power grid is rapidly growing,which has raised the cost of asset maintenance and of technical renovation.In addition,The Chinese authority has reinforced another round of power-transmission-and-distribution-price reform,weakened the power grid enterprises' monopoly and their competitive advantages.Internally,these enterprises are facing problems such as short service life of electrical equipment,low operating efficiency,high cost of technical renovating and overhauling,and high routine maintenance costs.To overcome these problems,power grid enterprises must change their thoughts of disregarding asset investment efficiency,and introduce life cycle cost method to their company strategies on the premise of ensuring the equipment reliability.As result,their companies can exten d the service life of electronic equipment,reduce the life cycle cost of assets,and improve the efficiency of company operations.This paper studied the historical cost data collected from the State Grid company Hebei branch,focusing on 220 kV overhead lines,cable lines,main transformers,circuit breakers,disconnectors,combination appliances,current transformers,voltage transformers,coupling capacitors,surge arresters,busbars,reactors,wave traps and 10 kV distribution transformers.As result,we have evaluated the equipment cost forecast model for investment period,operation period and decommissioning period.By studying the trend of operating cost against time,we have found the economic life point for equipment,and were able to analyze equipment life cycle cost from a quantitative perspective.So that,we can use this model to provide estimations when carrying out major technical renovation projects,to ensure a comprehensive view to equipment life cycle cost,safety and efficiency.
