Research On Quality Management Improvement For A Supplier Of J Medical Device Manufacturer

Product quality is the top priority for medical device manufacturers.But when the scandals of toxic capsules and substandard vaccines break out,the practitioners in this industry are challenged by a new topic.The manufacturers have to not only ensure their product quality within,but also tighten the control of their upstream and downstream partners.Only by minimizing or even eliminating the impact of those external activities or processes on their product quality could they ensure their product quality throughout the product life cycles.In this thesis the relevant theories on quality management,supplier management and quality management of suppliers are integrated as a basis.With Company J as an example,I hereby make some tentative efforts on the improvement of supplier quality management.My major studies consist of the following three aspects:In Part One I present the history and status quo of the research areas of supplier management,quality management and quality management of suppliers.And I introduce the status quo and development trend of the medical device industry in which Company J is a player.In Part Two I present the overview of Company J.Given the raw materials supplied by the supplier failing to pass the factory-entry inspection,I take it as an opportunity to find out the reasons behind it.By going through the existing raw material inspection procedures,the supplier screening and commenting procedures,the author trying to pinpoint Company J's problems in its supplier quality management.In Part Three,I propose the improvement scheme for Company J's problems in its supplier quality management and try implementing it.Based on the quality and other information of the raw materials provided by the supplier,I comment on the improvement of the supplier's quality management.This thesis is of certain theoretical and practical significance.By studying the improvement of the supplier's quality management,I try exploring for methods on quality management of suppliers in the medical device industry.And I also provide some trains of thought and suggestions on supplier management for other companies in this industry.
