The link between China's “One Belt and One Road” initiative and Kazakhstan's “Bright Way” strategy brought new opportunities, and a new need, for agricultural cooperation between China and Kazakhstan.Cooperation between the two countries in agriculture promotes the continuous improvement of the strategic bargaining position of both in the world grain market. Moreover, since Kazakhstan is to be the center of China's new transportation hub for the Eurasian continent,it is in the direct interests of the Chinese government to improve the living conditions of the common people in Kazakhstan, building up the country's infrastructure, popularizing higher education and easing the labor of agricultural workers in order to ensure political stability throughout the land.Kazakhstan's new economic policy tends mainly to making the best of this mutually advantageous situation. This article is an empirical case-study of the social impact of Ai Ju Group's Cooperation Project in Northern Kazakhstan, the first of many local projects dependent on the general success of China's road-building initiative.Distributing questionnaires to some 209 local farmers, the researcher evaluated the “One Belt and One Road” initiative of China and Kazakhstan's “Bright Way” strategy and the social impact of the Ai Ju project,as these things are seen from the perspective of the farmers.Subjective and objective analysis influencing rural villagers' choice towards the project both make a part of the case study. It was found that the project achieved objective good results and has the subjective support of the local people.Analysis of the influencing factors of the project's effectiveness showed that the education level of the persons interviewed, the main source of household income and the degree of understanding of the Sino-Kazakh agricultural cooperation make for the main three factors to affect the individual respondent's personal opinion as to the success or failure of the project.Suggestions based on this observed fact follow.
