| Since the beginning of the new century,China's exports of service trade are facing the same choice of extensive and intensive growth as manufacturing industries,and different export commodities mean different technological structures.If blindly pursuing the expansion of total service exports without paying attention to upgrading the technical content of service traded goods,it is very likely that the domestic industry will be in a passive situation of “comparative advantage trap”.Therefore,it has gradually become a consensus to measure the trade structure of a country from the perspective of product technology complexity.This paper uses multinational panel data from 62 countries in 2000—2015 service trade export data to describe the technical structure and the international status of China's service trade exports through various indices.Based on the endogenous growth theory and the "cost discovery" model,the influencing factors of the upgrading of China's service trade export technology structure were excavated.Firstly,this paper improves the traditional method of calculating the technical complexity of service trade exports.From the perspective of output,the technical complexity of exports at the sector level and at the national level was measured.Through measurement,we have founded that the technical structure of China's export of service trade is gradually advancing from a low.tech structure to a medium.high technology structure,but to a certain extent,the path dependence of the optimization and upgrading of the low.tech structure to the mid.tech structure has been formed;Using the limited catch up index,it is found that the technical level of China's service trade export is obviously above the "comparative advantage line",indicating that the technical content of China's service trade export products has significantly improved during this period;Through the study of the convergence of the technical structure,it was found that there are absolute ?-convergence,absolute ?-convergence,and conditional ?-convergence in the technical structure of China's export of service trade.The catch-up speed has significant advantages over other developing countries,but exports to service trade in developed countries.There is still a significant gap in the level of technology.Secondly,this article draws on the “endogenous growth” theory and the “cost discovery” model to characterize the technical functions of the service trade export sector.Rely on the theoretical model established to screen out the main influencing factors.Taking into account the development situation of different sample countries,the sample countries are divided into full sample countries and sub sample countries to consider respectively,and further divided into high,medium and low technical structure.Overall,physical capital(K)and human capital(HU)have a significant role in promoting the technical complexity of exports of both developed and developing countries,and have a greater role in promoting the developed countries than in the developing countries.The degree of openness(OPEN),infrastructure(INFRA),foreign direct investment(FDI),and political system quality(POLITIC)are more significant than the developed countries in promoting the exporting technology level of developing countries;The number of enterprises(POP)and the quality of the economic system(ECONOMIC)have a positive effect on developing countries,but not on developed countries.The quality of the legal system(LAW)only has a significant role in promoting the developing countries.After descriptive analysis and empirical test in the status quo,this paper proposes policy suggestions for upgrading the technical structure of China's service trade exports: 1.Pay attention to the cultivation of innovation ability and speed up the accumulation of high quality talents;2.Strengthen the construction of system quality and optimize the service industry development environment;3.Actively implement targeted diversified service trade export strategies.And make further research prospects. |
