With the extension of the population life,the liberalization of the two children policy,as well as the recent gradual implementation of the progressive delayed retirement plan,the aging of our workplace is becoming increasingly serious.Although the problem of aging has always been a topic of concern to scholars,the existing research focuses on micro-individual and macro-social aspects,and there are few studies based on organizational level,especially at the team level.Research is basically in a blank state.To this end,this study will be based on the perspective of the team level to explore the impact of workplace aging on the effectiveness of enterprise team mechanism.Through the method of empirical investigation,this study will deeply explore the impact of employee aging on team effectiveness,team performance and team cooperation satisfaction,and study the moderating effect of team size and team communication.A total of 47 valid team questionnaires were collected in this study.Through the data statistics and analysis,the following conclusions were drawn:(1)The aging of the workplace is not conducive to the effectiveness of enterprises,the higher the degree of aging workplace,the lower the effectiveness of the team;(2)The aging of the workplace is not conducive to the enterprise team performance,the higher the degree of aging workplace,the lower the performance of the team;(3)Aging of the workplace does not affect team cooperation satisfaction;(4)Team size plays a regulatory role in the impact of aging in the workplace on team effectiveness,aging of the workplace is not conducive to the team effectiveness of large-scale teams,and has no effect on the team effectiveness of small-scale teams;(5)Effective team communication can mitigate the adverse effects of workplace aging on team performance.Based on the above findings,this paper proposed some advices to management practice.(1)Elderly employees should actively respond to the aging process,highlight the advantages and avoid weaknesses;(2)Enterprises should control the team size properly,give priority to the implementation of small team work;(3)Enterprises should create a good team atmosphere,to promote effective communication among team members.Finally,the paper points out the shortcomings of this study,and prospects the future research direction.
