Analysis On Economic Connection Of Wuhan Metropolitan Area Based On Urban Flow

Since the establishment of the Wuhan Metropolitan Area,the overall development has been rapid,social,economic and other aspects have achieved good development,and the overall strength has been continuously improved,playing an increasingly important role in the coordinated development of the regional economy.The Wuhan Metropolitan Area is not only an important boost for the development and construction of the national central city of Wuhan,but also a core area for Hubei's economic development,an important strategic fulcrum for the rise of Central China,and one of the three major groups of urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River,or a powerful force for the construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.However,judging from the current development situation,the economic and social level is still far from the coastal developed urban agglomerations,and the comprehensive economic strength still could develop.Therefore,it is imperative to increase the overall competitiveness of the urban agglomerations and accelerate the pace of development.At the beginning of this paper,we will sort out the relevant research and development of regional economic relations,summarize the development process,development status,and achievements of the research region,analyze and summarize the problems existing in the economic linkages between cities,and secondly,rank the economic center cities.According to the classification of the economic center city level,it can be seen that the strength of each city in the urban agglomerations domain presents the “ pyramid ” structure distribution,and Wuhan is the central city which has the strongest function;again,the city link strength is calculated based on the gravity model.And,the circle is clearly graded.Wuhan,the central city,is more closely linked to the other eight cities,and the links between the other eight cities are relatively weak.On this basis,a model of urban flow intensity is constructed to empirically analyze the intensity of urban flow among cities in the urban agglomerations.The main conclusions obtained through the analysis are:(1)Wuhan,the most important city in the central city,has the most outward-looking economic development;the extent of development of the outward service functions of the cities is uneven,and the use of radiation is different.(2)The industrial advantages of the cities in the Wuhan Metropolitan Area are not prominent enough.There are no cities with high levels of entropy.Even if some cities have dominant industries and advantageous industries,they do not maximize the role of radiation.(3)The total outward function of cities in the urban circle presents a ladder-like distribution.Wuhan has the highest outward function,followed closely by Huanggang,with significant radiation accumulation;Xiaogan's total outward function is at the median;Ezhou's total outward function is less than one-third of that of Wuhan,and Qianjiang,Xianning and Huangshi's total None of the outbound functionalities are outstanding,indicating that there are still have much improving room that can be done on the economic ties of these cities.(4)Each city in Wuhan Metropolitan Area can be divided into four levels: The first level includes Wuhan and Huanggang,highlighting the central position of Wuhan and the good results of economic development in Huanggang.The second grade is Ezhou and Xiaogan.The economic levels,urban flow intensity,and total outward function of the two cities are all in the medium level of the urban circle,and there is hope that the development will enter the first level.The third grade includes Xianning,Qianjiang,Huangshi,Xianning and Qianjiang,relying on their resources and ecological advantages.The potential for economic development is large and the stamina is strong.Huangshi's performance as a sub-central city is slightly inferior and the urban flow intensity is not high enough.Greater room for development.The fourth grade contains Xiantao and Tianmen.The intensity of economic ties between cities needs to be strengthened.In order to further expand the Wuhan Metropolitan Area,exert its leading role in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and its important supporting role in the Yangtze River Economic Belt,based on the analysis of the aforementioned urban flow,the following spatial development policy recommendations are proposed:(1)Enhancing Wuhan's external radiation capabilities,to give full play to its own advantages,actively promote regional collaborative innovation,and create characteristic industrial clusters.To promote the polarization of other long-term centers and cultivate new growth poles,such as Huangshi,Ezhou and Xiaogan,forming multi-polar support.(2)Optimize the urban space within the Wuhan Metropolitan Area,cultivate distinctive urban structures,give full play to the resources and industrial advantages of the cities,and promote cities in the urban agglomerations to enhance their own economic strength while coordinating and complementing development,forming positive interactions,and enhancing radiation promotion.effect.(3)Strengthen the influence of radiation in Wuhan Metropolitan Area,organize coordinated development circle,lead the construction of urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River,promote the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,and drive the overall uplift of the region.
