Investigation And Research On The Renovation And Reuse Of Old Industrial Buildings In Xi'an From The Perspective Of Cultural Construction

At the end of the 20 th century,industries in major cities across the country began to undergo comprehensive upgrading and urbanized transformation.A large number of industrial enterprises faced with the survival issue.Factories had lost their original functions and were not used for a long time until they were dilapidated and dismantled.It has now became a major question of how to properly dispose and solve the problem of reusing the large areas of old industrial buildings left by relocation or enterprise bankruptcy.Since the beginning of China's renovation and reuse of old industrial buildings in the 1990 s,the renovators has gradually shifted their attention from simply giving full play to this buildings' economic value to a comprehensive consideration of history,culture,aesthetics and technology of them.Xi 'an a world-list cultural city with a capital history of more than 3,000 years,has a profound cultural heritage.It is also one of China's important industrial city whose old industrial buildings contain rich cultural connotations.It is essential to solve the renewal and reuse projects by fully understanding the culture of old industrial buildings and cultural construction to continue and regain its vitality.In this context,based on the perspective of "cultural construction",this study summarizes the specific content and basic methods of cultural construction of old industrial buildings.On this basis,the industrial development of xi 'an and the general characteristics of old industrial buildings are sorted out.Through visiting and investigating existing old industrial buildings renewal and reuse projects in xi 'an,typical cases are selected and the strategy of renewal and reuse is studied from the three links of cultural construction--"excavation,processing and presentation" through field research.Combined with the form of questionnaire survey,this paper analyzes the shortcomings of typical cases to reflect.Finally,it summarizes the basic principle and suggestion of the project of upgrading and reusing Xi'an's old industrial building,hope people can find some useful examples in my paper.
