Research On The Application Of Service Design In The Field Of Public Service In The UK

The concept of service design first appeared in the 1990 s,then the practice and research on service design developed continuously,and its application extended from the commercial field to the public service field.Public organizations regard service design method as a way of innovative culture and practice,rethink the equal interaction between public service providers and citizens,and pay more attention to citizens’ needs and experience of public services.The first batch of service design consulting companies appeared in the UK in the 21 st century,and since then the UK has opened a new chapter in service design for public services.By combing a large number of British design policy,service design,public service and other related historical literature and research reports,the author studies and analyzes the background,situation and process of British service design involved in public services.By tracing the historical process of British public service reform,this study summarizes the practice,research and educational development of service design in the UK,and concludes that since the British government introduced the new public management model in the 1980 s,we have implemented a series of new public service reform policies that pay attention to the needs of citizens and attach importance to citizen participation.These policies provide opportunities and conditions for the emergence of service design in the UK to intervene in the public service sector.The paper summarizes the practical application,theoretical research and educational development of service design in the UK,and analyzes the ways in which service design is involved in British public service from three aspects: design consulting organization,design promotion agency and government.By combing the current situation of the application of service design in the field of public service in the UK,this study analyzes the practical application,method and tool research and application promotion of service design in British public service.it intuitively presents the relationship between British service design and "public service-oriented" government,and also provides some reference and reference for our country to take service design as an innovative way to improve public service.
