Excellent urban planning is the foundation of rapid and healthy urban development,and the approval of building construction planning is a key part of urban planning.With modern urban architecture become more complex and tridimensional,the traditional examination and approval method which based on CAD and other 2D data can no longer meet the needs of building construction approval work in the new era.The three-dimensional architectural planning approval system that combines 3D GIS technology and virtual simulation technology has emerged.The 3D architectural planning approval system can express the effect of the architectural design scheme intuitively and enrich the contents of the building planning approval.So as to solves the difficulties encountered in modern building planning approval directly and effectively.Therefore,it is very necessary to research and promote the 3D architecture planning approval system.This paper is based on the two projects of Nanning Institute of Surveying,the first named “Research on the UNIGINE-based 3D Geographic Information System” while another named “Approval Project for the 3D Planning of the Wuxiang New District”.This paper tekes 3D GIS technology as the entry point.On the basis of summarizing the research and application of three-dimensional geographic information systems at home and abroad,combined with virtual simulation technology and UNIGINE three-dimensional engine,this article develop a 3D architectural planning approval system to provide more effective and reliable technical support for the work of building construction approval.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Study the basic theories and key technologies of architectural planning approval related theories,3D GIS technology,virtual simulation technology,UNIGINE engine,Qt development framework and SQL Server 2014 database management system.(2)Set up a three-dimensional simulation environment.Extraction of DEM data and land use thematic data based on different topographic map data and Landsat 8 OLI images.Using DEM data,landcover data,general feature maps and models,realize three-dimensional terrain visualization which different from traditional methods,through UNIGINE engine.(3)Research and apply 3DS MAX models,BIM models,Oblique photography models,and static models such as signage and street lamps to set up a three-dimensional simulation environment combine with the three-dimensional terrain.(4)Analyzing the requirements of three different roles,so as to design the system's framework,database and function modules.Studying the realization algorithm of the main function of the system and implementing the UNIGINE-based building construction planning approval support system.
