Research On Xi'an Hotel Industry Association (1937-1949)

Xi'an hotel trade association is a group of industrial and commercial organizations in Xi'an hotel industry during the period of the Republic of China.It takes Xi'an hotels,restaurants,hostels as management areas.Since the founding of the association,the organizational structure is becoming more and more complete.It is one of the industrial and commercial organizations in Xi'an during the period of the Republic of China.As the research field of the trade association is gradually expanding,more and more attention has been paid to the association of public services in the public service industry.But there is still relatively weak of research on the business management organization of the hotel industry as an important social service industry.Therefore,this paper conducts a case study of the hotel industry association in Xi'an.This paper mainly studies the trade association of Xi'an hotel industry from 1937 to 1949.Through the analysis of the development and evolution of the organization of theguild industry,the internal organization and operation and external contacts,the efficiency of the industry management,the relationship with the local government and so on,the purpose of this paper is to explore the autonomy ability of the hotel guild andthe characteristics of the guild organization.It also analyzes the role of guild organization in industry management and industry development.This article is mainly divided into five chapters to discuss.The first chapter combed the modernization of Xi'an industry organization and the evolution of Xi'an hotel industry organization.And discusses the basic course of the formation and development of the organization systemof the trade association in the industry and Commerce and hotel industry in Xi'an.The second chapter makes a detailed analysis and narration of the internal governance structure of the trade association of Xi'an hotel industry,investigates the operating conditions of the guild's funds,and involves the study of the affiliated institutions established by the guild.While paying attention to the internal organization and operation of the guild,it also expounds the external contacts of the guild,and examines the horizontal links between the guild and the chamber of Commerce and other group organizations.The third chapter focuses on the analysis of the autonomy of the association of hotels in the industry self-discipline and the protection of the interests of the industry.At the same time,as a social organization,it describes the functions and shortcomings of the guild in the field of mutual assistance and social philanthropy.The fourth chapter focuses on the relationship between the hotel trade association and the local government,analyzes the foundation for the cooperation between the guild industry autonomy and the government supervision,and discusses the initiative of the hotel industry guild in opposing the government's apportionment by taking the exempting action from the hotel and the travel agency initiated by the Association.The fifth chapter analyzes and evaluate the autonomy level of the trade association of the hotel industry as a whole,and expounds the autonomy and independence of the guild,and summarizes the factors that restrict the autonomy of the guild from the level of industry economic development,the limitation of the leadership level of the guild and the pressure caused by the government apportionment.Finally,in the conclusion part,the Xi'an Hotel Industry Association and other trade associations in Xi'an and the other cities' Hotels Association organizations are compared to highlight the characteristics of the Xi'an Hotel Industry Association.And from the perspective of social history,this paper analyzes the positive significance of the establishment of the hotel industry guild to the development of Xi'an hotel industry and the expansion of the social organization of Xi'an,and expounds the reference and reference significance of the research of the hotel industry guild to the urban social and social relations.Generally speaking,Xi'an Hotel Industry Association has achieved certain results in the field of self-discipline,maintenance of the interests of the industry and the function of the social function.But it is also limited to the government's apportionment of pressure and severe regulatory restrictions,the hotel industry association has left a pity on the development of the industry itself and the expansion of its business capabilities.Today,it is significative to analyse the experience and lessons of the trade autonomy of the trade association of the hotel industry in the historical period for the development of industry associations.
