Yinqie Pu is a book of Phonology written by Li Yuan in Qing Dynasty,it is characterized by the open mouth, even teeth, close mouth and pursed mouth to place rhyme table. The content involves the theory of rhyme, modem phonology and ancient phonology, which plays an important role in the history of phonology.Li Yuan's research on the ancient phonology was of great value in the study of ancient phonology in the Qing Dynasty, but because of its remoteness,it's academic value needs to be further explored and studied. This paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the Rhyme-Tables,reciprocal use of homophone with initials, and the parts of Ancient rhyme.Combined with the research conclusions of phonology scholars in the same period,we can see the characteristics of ancient initials and rhymes reflected in phonology, and then comprehend Li Yuan's achievements in phonology and its value?First, there are a lot of materials that reflect reciprocal use of homophone, through the exhaustive arrangement,we found that the main reasons of it's appearance are as follows:1.the process of reciting and copying ancient books, including the influence of dialects, alliteration and assonance,Chinese character structure and the function grammar;2.taboo on using the personal names;3.Change of ruler. In reciprocal use of homophone, the Jian is the most frequent and the Niang is the least. From the place of articulation, glottal is the most, followed by velar, apical sibilant, labial, apical occlusive, lateral and dorso-nasal fricatives. The reciprocal use of Ancient rhymes including the rhyme of Dong and Jing,Zheng,Qin Yan and Xian,Zhen Wen and Yuan,Zhi Wei and Qi,entering and so on.Second, according to the ancient Chinese phonology, the analysis of initials in Yinqie Pu,only involved in inter-working,not about the existence and classification of the initials. With the large number of materials in ancient books, such as different fonts, the same pronunciation, dialects, are used to prove it.Glottal is the most active, followed by apical sibilant, labial, velar, apical occlusive is the least.Different types of inter-working,Li Yuan put forward the inter-working of bilabial and labio-dental,apico-alvelar plosive and dorso-prepalatal plosives;retroflex sibilant dichotomy:one kind inter-working with apical occlusive, one kind with dental sibilant;velar inter-working with glottal;Niang Ri with Ni and Xie with Yu.Third, the study of ancient rhyme.Li made a comparison of twenty-three pieces of categories and divided it by Yang rhyme,Yin rhyme and Ru rhyme.Yang rhyme has eight parts for Dong and Jiang,Zheng,Tan,Yang and Geng,Zhen and Xian and so on,Han.Yin rhyme has six parts, such as Zhi and Wei,Zhi and Chui,Jia andYu.Ru rhyme has nine parts, for example,Wu,Zhi and De,Ji and He.In addition,Li combined Ru rhyme with Yin rhyme and Yang rhyme respectively, forming the law of Yin and Yang into two or three points.
