Autobiographical literature has always been welcomed by readers due to its own stylistic features, namely both artistic quality and documentary character.Autobiographical literature not only allows readers to have an in-depth understanding of the autobiographical author's own life experiences, but also motivates readers to have a positive and optimistic life attitude. For domestic readers, reading autobiographical literature abroad is also an effective way to understand the status of foreign culture and society. This article is a Russian-Chinese translation practice report. The Russian text is selected from the autobiography “The Life that can't be summed up” of the former Soviet Union's famous realist comedy master Ryazanov Eldar Alexandrovich. This report focuses on the analysis of some issues that arise in the process of translating the “The Life that can't be summed up” and discusses the corresponding translation strategies for these issues. The use of translation conversion methods is summarized by the analysis of example sentences. In the course of this translation practice, the author used translation methods such as compensation method, modality conversion method, combined syntax, clause syntax, and lexical semantic substitution method.Through the practice of translation of this autobiographical text, the author has accumulated experience in translation of autobiographical texts and has deepened understanding of translation theories and translation techniques. The author hopes that this translation report will provide some translation methods for future autobiographical translations, and also provide a feasible translation for readers who love Ryazanov.
