Inheritance and Protection—The Subject in the Process of Modernization is chosen as the translation material,which the fifth chapter of Study on the Original Ecological Culture of Oroqen published by Heilongjiang People Press and written by Wang Weihua.The unique natural environment and lifestyle of the Oroqen breeds their unique culture.Following the translation strategy of combining domestication and foreignization,the translator analyzes the translation of Oroqen ethnic cultural words and run-on sentences in cultural context,and strives to achieve “Harmony But Not Uniformity”.But how to achieve the balance between Harmony and Not Uniformity is a difficult point.In terms of the words,the translator chooses transliteration method,annotation method and free translation method when translating ethnic culture-loaded words and Chinese four-character phrases.As for the run-on sentences in the context of ethnic culture,the translator mainly adapts syntactic linearity method and restricting method according to the logical relationship of run-on sentences.The translator finds,analyzes and solves problems in the process of translation,and summarizes the experience and lessons,so as to provide reference for future translation of similar texts.
