History is an ongoing dialogue between the past and the present.The classics literatures are the same true.The Analects of Confucius,Mencius,and Zhuangzi in the Pre-Qin period of China were all oriental classics literatures.Chinese classics contain Chinese thought,history,culture and the wisdom of ancestors.Chinese President Xi Jinping has repeatedly emphasized the importance of classic works in various media.In various important speeches in China and abroad,he repeatedly used famous sentences in classic works to express Chinese positions and concepts to the world and let the world understand China.Classics literatures are the spiritual wealth for the country.Therefore,Chinese learners should learn the famous sentences in Chinese classics literatures.Moreover,foreign students in the middle and advanced stages should understand Chinese classics literatures as well.From the perspective of Chinese international education,for foreign students with different cultural backgrounds,classic works are not easy to read,and it contents difficult to understand.Even books that are modern Chinese is hard to read without background knowledge.Therefore,for second language learners,it is easier to separate the classic famous sentences from the literatures and learn them separately than to learn the overall content of the classic literatures.This study takes the middle-level and high-level foreign students as the survey object to conduct a questionnaire survey on the teaching of classic famous sentences.This study uses the contrast method to conduct a multi-angle analysis of the survey results,pointing out the status quo and problems of the classic famous sentence teaching,and finally mention the suggestions for foreign students to learn the classic famous sentences.This study includes four parts:The first part is the introduction which expounds the purpose and significance of the topic selection defining the research scope of the classic famous sentence and mentions the innovation point of this paper based on combing and analyzing the research results of the predecessors.The first chapter expounds the necessity and feasibility of foreign students learning classic famous sentences.First of all,from the perspective of excellent cultural communication,international understanding of values and the rich language expression,the necessity of learning classic famous sentences is carefully classified.It expounds the feasibility of the investigation of the classical famous sentences teaching,textbook analysis,and teaching design.The second chapter investigates and analyzes the teaching of classic famous sentences.It investigates the teacher's teaching situation and student learning.At the same time,it takes the series of Developing Chinese published by Beijing Language and Culture University Press as an example,the number and subject matter of classic famous sentences appearing in the textbooks are investigated.Meanwhile,the survey results are compiled and analyzed.The third chapter,based on the results of the investigation and analysis in the second chapter,it proposes teaching suggestions from the aspects of curriculum setting,textbookwriting and teaching design.At the same time,it proposes learning suggestions to learners according to different themes,different motivations and different ways.In conclusion,the classic famous sentence comes from the classic literatures containing the essence of Chinese traditional culture which has highly educational value.This research mentions many targeted suggestions on education and teaching,in order to help the teaching of classical Chinese for foreign Chinese learners.
